Remarks

I had also applied for Rizvi College (Civil) and Vartak College ( Mechanical ) but I chose SFIT because it has a better placement record. Also, it is known for its amazing faculty and lush green campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The faculty of SFIT is the best. The faculty of the established branches like Computer, IT, etc is very good. They are always ready to help and approachable. The faculty of the newly started branches like Mechanical and electrical are also good. I am from Mechanical and I can proudly say that the Mechanical H.O.D and all the teachers are the best. They not only teach and solve our doubts but they even provide a variety of study materials. They start teaching from the basics. The Mechanical labs too are great and well developed. There are weekly exams ( tutorial tests), then there are IAT's ( unit tests ), vivas, and lastly final end semester exams. If your understanding of the subject is good then there will be no difficulty in scoring well in these exams.

Internships Opportunities

3

The Mechanical students get exposure as there is a car servicing facility right in our college. We get hands-on experience. The CS, IT and Extc students too bag internships. The TPO is sending details of various kinds of internships to all its students through email.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement ratio has always been great of SFIT. The students from CS, IT, Extc are always placed. The TPO provides training to students of all departments well before the placement season starts. Recently, there was a notice about training for Third-year students starting 4-5 months before the placement seasons. Also, many students go to pursue masters abroad, the TPO arranges seminars and counseling sessions for them too. The mechanical and electrical students to get placed. In fact, they have the option of going for a software-based company or a core job interview. This year's highest package was 18 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee of the college is 1,13,260 which itself is a little less expensive as compared to other colleges in Mumbai. The faculty over there also try to find scholarships for the students. They themselves make the students aware of the various goverment as well as private scholarships. Recently they conducted a survey about scholarships from the students of all years and departments. The placement ratio of SFIT is great. The CS , IT , EXTC students always get placed with good enough salaries. This year saw the placement of the students from the newly started Mechanical and electrical branches. They were placed in good software companies also the interviews for core companies are still going on. The college trains Mechanical students in such a way that they are also capable of cracking software interviews.

Campus Life

3.5

The yearly IRIS ( cultural ) and IGNITRA ( sports ) fest is conducted during even semesters in the month of January - February. I had participated in IRIS and I enjoyed the process. Each and everything is done by the students from the stage building to the performances and I must say that is very enjoyable. The college library is good with all the necessary technical books, magazines, reports. It also has a small section of fiction books. The classroom is airy and spacious and the teachers use modern facilities for teaching purposes. There are many committees in our college. The well-known ones are RAW ( robotics and automation Wing ) and the E-Cell ( which organizes TedxSfit every year). There are other committees too ( MESA, CSI, IEEE ) and there is a Student Council too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Soo ever since kid i was interested in bikes this interest was all for me to take this course , my father is very bike enthusiast and it came down to me , i could easily take mechanical and other engineering cause these are common courses which involves automobile , but since i wanted to follow my passion , i wanted to do specialization in automobile itself and DPCOE was offering this course with great facilities and knowledge providing us a path in this lane of career in this field. According to me curriculum prepares us quite well as they conduct workshop which are relevant to outside world where we'll be working. If there were more practical workshops for us to work on would be great cause automobile engineering is all about practicals rather than theoroticals Professor should try teaching in physical part rather than taking lectures and explaining the concept by just words

Yes there is placement cell of STES which is no different than other tier 3 engineering colleges offering a tier 3 average package depending on who is the recruiter. Students become eligible for campus from 3rd year of their degree. Highest package is something around 55 lakhs offered to a computer engineering student, and average is just like I said for a tier 3 college 5-6 lakhs(above or below). Almost everyone gets placed in the company but some might not.
