Entrance Preview

I got my admission in KPB Hinduja College when I secured 88% in SSC examinations. I opted for this college as it is very well reputed and since my brother too had done his graduation from here.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The college covers every course in the Commerce stream. From what I am studying B.Com covers almost every aspect of Commerce like Accounting ,Economics, Advertising etc. The subjects are studied in depth. Also timely Q&A sessions are held to test the knowledge of each student of the subject.

Internships Opportunities

No, From what the our sir told us our college doesn't provide internship to students .But the student can do if he wants after second year.

Placement Experience

3.5

Well there are some companies which come for placement but only a few of the students get selected for the job .As there interview is tough .For eg .If 128 students have given interview only 4-5 students from them would be selected for job. The companies which come at college are Wipro, TCS, Infosys etc. Packages are from 3 lakhs.

College Events

4

The college like every other college has its own fest called as PANAAH. Also with it the college celebrates Independence Day and Republic Day. The college also holds Sports day. So all in all there are various events and fests taking place in college all round the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As the college is affiliated with Mumbai University and some proportion of the fees is paid out of the Government Grant so the fees are very feasible. It is affordable by anyone since the fees are less compared to the other cities. One can complete the graduation with about 35k.

Fees and Financial Aid

I had heard many times in college for scholarship but to be frank in the three years no one had received the scholarship in my class. There are no sponsors in the college who gave scholarship.

Campus Life

3.5

To be frank there was no campus of the college but the location of the college was such that one never felt the lack of a campus. The gender ratio is 1:1 and there are students from every caste race and religion. The labs are very good overall the college is very good.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The college does not provide for hostel facilities. But there are certain places near the college which are available on the PG basis. The rent depends on the area and the accommodation facilities provided to them. The rent varies in range from 15k to 75k pm as per the facilities provided and the area of the property.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is as per the guidelines set by the Mumbai University which has to be followed by every college. The college tries to focus on the practical part of the knowledge rather than the theoretical part so that the students get to know about the practical world as well.

Admission

After the results came out, the first thing was to fill the form with the desired subject that one wants to pursue and then get it signed by the concerned authority. Then you have to submit the form. After that the college releases list of students based on merit. I got my admission in List 1 itself.

Faculty

4

The faculty is that aspect of our college where the college stands out and is ahead of other colleges. The faculty is highly qualified and almost every professor of the college holds a professional degree like CA, MBA, PhD etc. The faculty is very helpful and solve the doubts of the students as and when they come up.

Course Curriculum Overview:

One of the key aspects of the curriculum that influenced my decision to choose the B.Com course at Sydenham College was its strong foundation in core commerce subjects such as Accounting, Economics, Business Law, and Finance. The structured progression from basic to advanced concepts, along with exposure to subjects like taxation and auditing, made the program particularly appealing for students aiming for careers in finance, CA, CS, or management.

De Shaw, and Bain Capital are among the biggest companies and lighter companies are also many. Visa and all are also there which are rare otherwise. For b.com though 30-40k is what is offered but I feel it's fair enough.

Placements society of college is just a decade old and still top companies like Zues Capital, Barclays, and Icici bank are among the top colleges that have become a part of ecosystem where 30-40 students is what each companies hires every year. Not many though as too many sections and 500+ students means getting placed even half the students can be a task where Mithibai placement percentage is 60 odd percentage.

Placement Experience:

Impeccable, amazing and unbelievable are the placements here. For B.Com which is as always a crowded college, making sure 60-70% students have placements through campus is a task not less than climbing everest. So definitely all I can say is our college has done so well that it is now the first choice college for commerce not just among Mumbaikars but overall as well.
