Remarks

The admission was smooth and easy to apply. It was through the JAC Chandigarh committee where students need to register in order to apply. The admission was based on jee mains ranking and has a different quota as mentioned on the JAC Chandigarh site. if the seat is allotted to the student he has to submit the documents on the day of counseling which is an easy and smooth process but takes a bit of time. Campus students are there to welcome newcomers and help with students' doubts.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I had an interest in computer science and that is why I opted for this course. the faculty is very knowledgeable and a bit strict. Nearly all the faculty of Computer Science consist of Ph.D. professors. If a student has a keen interest he/she can go to the professor for live projects and internship opportunities, they will surely help anyone. the paper is set according to the class learning and curriculum of the course and If the student follows both he/she is able to pass the exam with flying colors.

Internships Opportunities

2.5

I didn't do any internship with the college or provided by the college. But the DIC lab at the college is working on several live projects and hiring students who are interested in learning and enhancing their skills.

Placement Experience

4.5

Campus placement for the Computer Science student and very good .companies like amazon, Goldman Sachs, Deloitte come for campus placement and offer a good amount of package. The placement drive takes place in July at the start of the 7th semester. The highest package goes to nearly 30 lakh and the average goes between 6-9lakhs which is good for freshers.

Fees and Financial Aid

According to me, the fees are not high as compared to other colleges and there are a lot of great opportunities at campus placement. there is a 100% placement and numerous opportunities for computer science students.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life is very safe and beautiful. the campus has a 24-hour library for students to study. There are a lot of clubs for students to join. The student has to make effort for themselves and explore the opportunities and social life. The seniors are very helpful and over a period of time, they become friends and mentor to you.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There is a shortage of hostel room as compared to no of students so many of the students has to rent pg rooms if a student gets a hostel the rooms are okay to live a healthy student life. The mess food is good and there should not be that much problem for a student to eat mess food. If a student doesn't get a hostel there are a lot of pg rooms in the adjacent sectors with low to high price, with-without food but there are a lot of tiffin services which a student can take. I experienced both the life and had fun in both. But for the 1st and 2nd year a student should try to live in the hostel it helps in connecting people and learns new things.

Placement Experience:

You can appear for placements starting from 7th semester onwards plus you can apply yourself as well to various off-campus opportunities. The companies which visit are decent i would say including the likes of Amazon, Deloitte, Hero came as well few years ago for mechanical engineers. Around 50-60 decent companies visit the college for placement with around 300 job offers with the highest package around 41 lpa which was off campus probably but Amazon could give upto 25-30 lpa i guess, The average package would be around 7 lpa i guess but its gonna improve year by year. If you are in CSE or IT you are most chilled with around 80% placements, in ECE as well there are decent placements but after that you have to study really well to get placed But you can always do a lot of things after getting your degree.

Generally placement starts at the end of 6th semester. There are many companies visited and Microsoft is one of them now you can imagine. Lowest package is approximately of 2 LPA and maximum is 40 LPA. Most of the students get placed if there CGPA is above 6.5. My plans are to get a master degree.

I chose this because of the brand of Panjab University. Plus you get a lot of exposure of Chandigarh and there are a lot of opportunities there based on your field, even better than Delhi. Plus you never get distracted in Chandigarh because of the reason that people are too much work and ethics focused. Also, the level of knowledge the teachers have in my college is just great.
