Remarks

For the students who actually want to study and don't want to waste time, this is a suitable college

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The courses provided by Chandigarh University are as per UGC guidelines. For engineering students, the course is the same for all the branches in the first and second semester and after the second semester. i.e, in the third semester the student can change their branch. Many industrial visits are done and many lab tests are done as per the subject.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements process and the number of companies differ for each course as for Civil Engineering companies like Cognizant, Denied, Pearce, etc come to visit and place a fair no of students. Steps of placement process include a written test, Group Discussion, and personal interview.

College Events

2

The biggest event celebrated in Chandigarh University is Chandigarh University Fest. Which lasts for up to 5 days and many cultural events take place during this. Events such as classical dance, singing, modelling, drama, live performances by many renowned singers and DJs are also done.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure, in my opinion, is feasible and the college also provides many scholarships so students with good academics can take full advantage of it. The fee of Hostel is paid yearly while the fee of academics is paid semester wise. The fee may hike for new students every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship was offered to me also yes I am studying on a student loan. Eligibility criteria are for the students who have 80% or more marks in the 12th

Campus Life

4

Campus life is strict and not a lot of freedom is provided to students. No eating outside before 12 PM. There are parks but one cannot sit in the park after college. Rude behaviour by security guards, wardens. Gender Ratio is 70% men and 30% women. Also, women aren't allowed outside their hostel after 7 PM.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, senior alumni are always helpful and ready to guide students. Many seminars are also a day frequently in this matter

Admission

When I completed my 12th exam, I found out about Chandigarh University by advertisements. I Chose Chandigarh University for the following reasons: Affordable Price, Prefered course available, etc. I chose civil engineering because I always wanted to pursue this as a career.

Faculty

4

Faculty can be accessed through CUIMS.in which is the official web page for students and teachers. Faculty can also be approached via mail or directly in the staff room. Lecturers hold the relevant industry experience as they have the university after a few years of work experience in the engineering field.

Placement Experience:

You can appear for placements starting from 7th semester onwards plus you can apply yourself as well to various off-campus opportunities. The companies which visit are decent i would say including the likes of Amazon, Deloitte, Hero came as well few years ago for mechanical engineers. Around 50-60 decent companies visit the college for placement with around 300 job offers with the highest package around 41 lpa which was off campus probably but Amazon could give upto 25-30 lpa i guess, The average package would be around 7 lpa i guess but its gonna improve year by year. If you are in CSE or IT you are most chilled with around 80% placements, in ECE as well there are decent placements but after that you have to study really well to get placed But you can always do a lot of things after getting your degree.

Generally placement starts at the end of 6th semester. There are many companies visited and Microsoft is one of them now you can imagine. Lowest package is approximately of 2 LPA and maximum is 40 LPA. Most of the students get placed if there CGPA is above 6.5. My plans are to get a master degree.

I chose this because of the brand of Panjab University. Plus you get a lot of exposure of Chandigarh and there are a lot of opportunities there based on your field, even better than Delhi. Plus you never get distracted in Chandigarh because of the reason that people are too much work and ethics focused. Also, the level of knowledge the teachers have in my college is just great.
