Remarks
Since I lived in Jharkhand, I had to go to their Ranchi office for tests and Interviews. They asked for my board mark sheets and to fill a form. Then I gave an online exam followed by a telephonic interview with a faculty member. Then I had to personally go to the college campus to confirm my admission and deposit fees for the first year.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is the same if you do computer science engineering from any college. I chose computer science engineering because I studied computer science in my school days and I always had a knack for coding. There are enough faculty members for every subject. It's not like there will only be one professor for a subject for the entire college even if it's biology. Most professors are M.tech graduates and some are also PhDs. Many of them are from good colleges. Exams were easy. But the problem was that the timetable was sent at the last moment so it's always difficult to plan ahead if you want to travel back home after exams.
Placement Experience
Placements only begin in the 7th semester. Companies start coming in the month of June itself. On average the package is 5lpa. Most companies will be Noida-based but some are from Bengaluru also. The highest package for my year stands at 8lpa for a company named Mphrx. Most students get placed. Some don't want placements as they want to go for higher studies. My plans are to work as a software development engineer at a respectable firm at a respectable salary.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is 1,79,000 a year. You can pay for the entire year and also every semester. They will start charging late fees for every day that you don't pay the fees after the deadline. They didn't reduce the fees in corona even when they were saving a ton of money on electricity. You can easily get a scholarship. I always maintained my cgpa above 9 so I got a 60% scholarship every year. You will definitely get some scholarship if you maintain above 8.2 cgpa but it will be less. The college placements are still going on with an average package of 5lpa. Highest till now is 8lpa.
Campus Life
The campus is considerably big. There are many eateries where you can hang out with your friends. There is a grocery store and a laundry store which will be helpful if you live inside the campus hostel. The annual fest is one of the biggest in north India. A few celebrity singers are invited. Generally takes place in November. The library is huge and contains all books that you need. Every classroom has an AC. There are many clubs like coding, debate, music, dance, and many more. There are many fields on the campus for football and cricket.
Hostel Facilities
I lived in a three-seater room but there are single and double-seater rooms as well. The rooms are big enough with cupboards, lights, fans and a balcony. The rooms are cleaned every two days. They are re-painted every year. There is also an elevator. The hostels are well secured and they don't allow people who don't live in the hostel. The meals quality is below par. On some days the food is good. The cost of a three-seater room is 90000 per year.
Interview Experience
I had to give an online test and a telephonic interview with a faculty member. The online test was based on easy questions and the syllabus was the same as your science board exams. Anyone can pass. The telephonic interview was also easy. He asked for my introduction and basic questions. If you prepare for board exams then all questions will be from there.
