Remarks

I applied for CU( Chandigarh University) earlier but decided to no continue there. Their fee for my program was really high. I cannot afford 35000 per semester just for my graduation plus, I have to spend on a hostel too. DAV seemed the right option for me. It has a good reputation, moreover, the fee is also affordable. I did not apply for not quota. The admission criteria for my program were really simple. I had to pay the fee for the form which is 600- less, compared to other colleges under Panjab University. I also paid 600 for the hostel form. The minimum marks required were a pass percentage, nothing else. One has to be complete 12th from a recognized board. After that, the college released their lists of enlistees after 13 days. For my program, the fee was 19500, so I just had to pay that and got in. The process was very simple and to the point.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I want to be a psychologist in the future so I had to choose BA (Hons.) In psychology. The Hons. The course starts from the 2nd year to see if the child is capable of pursuing honors or not. I do not have any specific amount of children in my class. For psychology, there's a maximum of 100 out of which 60 are present. For other classes, the range is 20-40. The teachers seem really experienced and they listen well to the doubts of the students. No one scolds unnecessarily. All the teachers joke around a little bit in the class to maintain a good healthy atmosphere. We have several discussions where you can oppose the ideology of the teacher and they all seem fine with it. All of them have done P.hD in their specific subjects. The term exams will start in November so I don't have anything to write about that. The syllabus has been covered well until now, the classes are regular so the students who will study will surely pass them easily.

Internships Opportunities

3

About the internships, I mentioned earlier they haven't started yet, for the course I'm opting for. The college provides really good internships though, as heard from previous students. A lot of companies have been getting to DAV, Chandigarh for internships. Also, my field requires good internships and I'm sure I'll be getting them here in my college.

Placement Experience

3

Honestly, about all that information I cannot write in detail. There are many companies which come for placements in DAV college, Chandigarh as it is very renowned. Also, a lot of students got placements last year. My plan after getting my bachelor's degree is to move out of the country and study abroad. I want to complete my master's P.hD in abroad.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is very reasonable for my course i.e 19,500 per year. A normal person can easily afford it I guess. There's no special hike in fee post covid. There are an extra 3,200 or 2,200 to be paid according to your course, whether you have practical or not. If you do, 1000 is extra. This fee is for examination and it is to be submitted after every semester.

Campus Life

2.5

I have not attended an annual fest till now but the college seems to have many functions, elections, and fests which I'm sure they'll be great when attended. There are thousands of books available in the library to read. Also, the rules of the library are really strict, which is good. The library is a place for reading in peace and in DAV, that is what it is. There are many sports which are played by the students who desire to play them. Also, NCC is an option too. For the extracurricular activities, there are my clubs made- Dance club, Threatre club, etc. There are groups on WhatsApp run by the students.

Hostel Facilities

3

A bed, a cupboard, and a study table along with other basic needs. The room is not too small, not too big. Just the perfect size. There are 250 rooms for boys and 500 for girls. The menu is basic, just the Indian meal. Pulses, rice, chapati, and a sabzi. The breakfast will have paranthas and dahi. They will serve snacks too. The meal quality is good. You can easily like it. The registration process was the same. 600 for hostel form. 30,000 for booking the room and then they'll adjust the rest 55,000 which will be taken after. The hostel is affordable. I did not rent a room or PG. Hostel works fine for me.
