Remarks

The admission process of MBS College was done through JKCET. The process included first appearing in the JKCET examination. After the scores were declared we had to select the order of the prefernces of the colleges we were interested in and also the courses we were interested in. I had kept the MBS College as my second preference, first being the GCET Jammu. The reason of joining MBS College was because of its no compromise teaching and learning process. I had come to know about this from various of my acquaintances that this was the college to be in if you wanted to study. Since the selection process was based on JKCET, the college didn't need to figure out any of the miscellaneous details about the candidates as it was already done by the test holding organisation. We just had to submit some documents and our first year annaual fee and that was basically it. The college did however through in a inductiobn program for the freshers wherein they got acquainted with the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

3

I chose to do my B.E in Electrical Engineering mainly because of the infamous parent pressure (if you know what I mean). The faculty was mostly nice with about a 1:20 faculty: student ratio which wasn't bad at all. Faculty was available if there ever was a doubt to be cleared or something. The teaching and managing faculty was well qualified and most teachers were well reviewed with each having their unique teaching style and method. There were two term exams in a year with the college also holding four internal exams a year. I would say it was pretty difficult to pass let alone even score very high marks and it was the case with all of the students.

Placement Experience

3

Being in lockdown for almost 2 years, the college didn't get a chance to organise in person face to face placement events. That being said, the college did organise online placement drives, which were successful with many students getting selected in different companies. Being freshers, the packages started from 2L per annum to 5L per annum. That being said I didn't find anything that I was interested in so I didn't join any of the companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of the college mostly remained consistent throughout the four years, only dipping or hiking a thousand or two with each year; overall a positive experience I would say. You could apply to government scholarships provided you were eligible and the college was very supportive of the process and never hurdled in any application or verification process. However, there wasn't any financial aid or any kind of stipend that you could get from the college directly.

Campus Life

3.5

Life on the campus was mostly good. The students were very social and their friends were amazing. Amenities were available and if any or some books were needed, the library was happy to issue them provided they were available. The college organised a fest each year where numerous students would participate in different programs spanning from quizzes and competitions to plays. In addition to this, the college also organised sports events albeit in scarcity. There were also a few social groups but they were mostly scarce.

Placement Experience:

Our institute has a placement call, and it helps the students acquire jobs in the industry. Many top companies like Wipro, L and T, and NVIDIA visit our campus, and it provides jobs in every field from Information Tech. to Material-related jobs. Here job opportunities are for every branch. Recently in one day 30-40 students got placed at an average package of 10 LPA. Most of the opportunities are for CSE and IT students as it goes for every institute and some companies like GAIL, and IOCL. BARC gives internship opportunities to chemical branches too. The core branches like Electrical and Mechanical also perform well in the placements. From the 7th semester, placement opportunities are given to the students. Highest package 40 LPA and median package 10 LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Good things is that they offer minor courses for us where we can choose extra courses which we may find interesting and yaa not only that interdepartment projects can also be chosen which is very strange but don't seems relevant.curriculum earlier they were following of iit Delhi and new curriculum is not very exact and relevant because sometimes there are some unnecessary courses and no point of learning that course which forcefully imposed on us to take this course as it comes under institute department courses and are mandatory which is not so good

Placement Experience:

I think the students become eligible for placements after 6 th semester, if you are from CS / IT then you'll get enough opportunities for yourself... I know 8-9 seniors who have grabbed a pretty decent package from companies like Oracle If somehow you fail to get recruited on campus then i guess the off campus option is open for all I am pretty satisfied with the placement record atleast for IT The percentage placement for this year CSE was 51 considering recession part this seems good to me
