Remarks

Based on my Gate score, I opted this college. Since my requirement was a core branch and my future objective was to pursue a PhD so I went for this college where we had the flexibility to work on our domain with regular stipend from AICTE for Gate qualified students.

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum was similar to that of IITs and NITs but some faculties were not good nevertheless we had flexibility to prepare our subjects from NPTEL lectures by IIT professors. I recommend the students who face difficulties in preparing a particular subject could refer to the NPTEL Lectures irrespective of college.

Class Size: 10Course Fees: INR 120000 per year

Placement Experience

Placements are less in case of the Masters course but there are opportunities in software companies like TCS, Infosys, Cognizant but core Placements are not good. If someone wants to pursue higher studies then it's a good place to prepare for the same. Since I had the plan to pursue a PhD, I didn't went for the placements instead prepared for the interviews and got an offer from NIT Rourkela for full-time Ph.D in Thermal science with scholarship.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was good. Since it is a State Govt college we had to pay much less than the fees at NITs. There is financial assistance from MHRD for gate qualified students of 12400 per month. There are also placement opportunities for MTech students in software companies. But placement in core companies is rare. TCS, Cognizant and Infosys are some of the major recruiters that allow Mtech students from all branch.

Campus Life

Campus is beautiful. Hostels are equipped with all facilities and a playground for most of the hostels and a common Gym with good quality of mess food. There are places to visit nearby that includes thr Hirakud Dam, Debrigarh Wildlife Sanctuary, Zero point , Dykes and many more. It is a place of natural beauty.

No we were selected on th basis of our Gate score and academic credentials. Someone who doesn't have a valid Gate score could get admission without stipend provided that they have a sound academic career.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The college curriculum are outdated and old. They should have add some latest technology in the engineering segment and taught more practical rather than the theory. Subject part. The frequency of the exams are every three month.

Vssut, burla is a renowned government college. I have been always dream of studying in a good government engineering college. The faculties are very good and supportive in every aspect.
