Entrance Preview
AIEEE and my rank was about 3 lakhs. I opted to this college as HOD's are from NIT Rourkela and the college staffs were disciplined and helpful.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure was more of theory based with around 20 percent hands on and practical stuffs. The fear to pass the theory paper is so much that the time allocated for research gets reduced. But the theory part includes latest stuffs about the Information Science and the faculty member were knowledgeable.
Internships Opportunities
No our college didn't provide internship. But it had a good placement record at our times. We were the second batch under BPUT and 80 percent was the placement record.
Placement Experience
Placements were satisfactory, the training and placement department officer was well behaved and helpful. From our batch around 60 percent student got placed before commencement of 7th semester. Lots of off campus and on campus opportunities were there at our times and IT companies were major recruiters.
College Events
We used to have Cricket, volleyball, football and other sports events, Cultural programs as well. We use to have Technical fests as well which were quite big and almost 100 percent participation were there. The cultural programs were also well enjoyed and every year some celebrity or singer were the main attraction.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fees structure was quite nominal and was affordable. I had to pay 38000 per semester. Other exam fees and registration fees were less than 1000 at our times. The fees structure got little expensive from the next batch it rose to around 83000 per semester.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions
No at out times we had no scholarships facility but yes education loan facility was available. The educational loan could be easily availed and college authority provides all the required documents.
Campus Life
The gender ration was almost 50 : 50 and never found any gender bias.Lots of opportunities for extracurricular activities, sports other completions. In collaboration with NIT, Rourkela our college used to organize Technical fests. The politics was almost negligible in our college with no religion, or sexual or economic status orientation.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities were so so. Not that very good, and the distance from the main college campus was around 2 kms. The food quality was also not that good so most of the students opted to go out for food. Staying in hostel was not mandatory for the students.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network was way too weak, the passed out students were never asked or invited for cultural fests or any other occasions in the college.
Exam Structure
The exam structure was well planned, we use to get almost 4 months before a semester exam leaving the holidays. The labs were not hectic at all but we enjoyed most of the time. We use to have Viva after each practical sessions which was knowledge gathering sessions for me.
Admission
I directly approached the college and from there only I received the admission form and was helped by the college staff with the procedures. I had to submit the AIEEE rank card, mark sheets of class 10th and 12th and the college admission and semester fees.
Faculty
As we know nothing is static so the faculty used to get changed not frequently but happened. The mathematics department was best after that if you ask me to provide score about faculty of my college I would give 7 out of 10. Faculty members were helpful.
