A tour to Bennett Unuversity

Admission into Bennett University was quite easy with no such unnecessary burdens. I got my admission through my 12th CBSE percentage. Since I had scored above 90%, I was also given a 25% scholarship on my fee. The college offered flexibility in terms of visiting the college, meeting the faculties and giving a proper campus tour before asking for admission confirmation. Only major documents like the 12th mark sheet, TC, character certicate and some minor documents were required, that too were submitted online. Overall it was an process to get into the university. Admission criteria into Btech CSE were open above 75% 12th score, though the scholarships started on a score of 90 and above.

The main reason I chose Bennett University is because of the course I was looking for. I wanted my specialisation in AI and Machine Learning, and since it is a new university, it offers the newest teaching methods and upgraded technologies to venture. The batch sizes are 30. All faculty members, especially from the computer department are Phd's and have a good delivery. Other subjects are averagely taught, computers being the domain. We are provided with all the ongoing trends in the field of technologies regularly and also encouraged to take part in various hackathons and other events. Talking about the exams, the difficulty level is moderate. I did find the exam schedule a little unorganised and hectic in my first year.

Internships and placements come hand in hand. finding internships is mostly on our student part. The college does make us familiar with the companies especially the start-ups that provide internships both paid as well as unpaid. example: Here technologies, Zycus etc.

The university provides on campus placements for btech students from 3rd year onwards.Though students are allowed to take up any off campus internships in their 1st and wnd year as well. Since it is a Time's Group initiative companies do come on campus. Though the university claims the highest package to be 44 LPA from Microsoft, but that was one case that too it was an off campus placement. Companies like Cognizant, Wipro, Capgemini, IBM etc are seen on campus and average package offered remains around 5 to 6 lpa. The placements as heard from seniors are very average, Around 70% students are successsfully placed.

The college is pretty expensive but they do provide financial aid and student loans which makes it easier to cope up with the costs. The fee structure for BTech CSE is 3,60,000 per year exclusive of the living expenses. The hostel charges for one year are 1,50,000. Though with scholarships provided, the cost comes down. Scholarships are given to scores above 80% in 12th boards and above 75 percentile in Jee MAins. College provides on-campus internships from the 3rd year onwards for BTech students, though we are completely allowed to take up internships off campus before that too. As for placements we do encounter many companies like IBM, Accenture etc. But huge companies like Google and Amazon generally remain off campus. We are also ensured international academic collaborations, though that is not much seen.

Want to enjoy campus life. This is surely the one. Bennett University is best known for its beautiful infrastructure and campus. the classrooms are very decent and the campus is lush green. There are two huge libraries- the central library and the law library. The hostel room size is average and very clean. A wide range of sports facilities is available like basketball, swimming and gym. The sports department is seen very active throughout the year. It's one of the most social places to be at with societies like Rivaaz for cultural dance, Advaita for music, ACM and IEEE as technical societies and many more. The platform given for self development is huge. Also, Bennett University has its own hatchery for students with entrepreneurial minds. The most exciting event of the college remains Bluemoon, the annual fest of the university,
