Remarks
the CSE placements of GEU are very good. the faculty isn't so much but during the final years they really help the students. the internship opportunities however (through the college) are mostly for girls and boys have to look for themselves. the campus is beautiful and it's a open campus so the students can come and go at any time (hostellers have some restrictions attached). the labs are well equipped and classrooms are well furnished and spacious. the college also has various clubs and events for co-curricular activities. the college is also famous for an Annual Fest where some celebrity performs.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose B.Tech. CSE out of interest in computer science. the faculty is highly qualified and most of them are IITians. some are a little "too much" and are usually not liked by the students as they aren't friendly or easy to approach but most of them are very supportive. the teaching methods vary from teacher to teacher and they try to cover the basic understanding of the topic but without self study the things are a little tough to understand. exams are held after every 3 months i.e.twice in a semester. they are fairly easy to pass but for a good CGPA one has to study well in the class otherwise self study a week before if sufficient to pass the exams (although many students do have backlogs)
Internships Opportunities
the internship opportunities are mostly for girls and boys have to look for themselves. the college is often contacted by companies like Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Salesforce, etc for students for internship but most students have to find an internship themselves and ask the faculty to prepare them for any big internships.
Placement Experience
the placements are second best in the whole State. students start applying from 7th sem for various companies like Adobe, Amazon, Cisco, Cognizant, Infosys, BYJUs, TCS, etc. (to name a few). almost every student gets placed (I'm not sure about the exact percentage). the highest package varies between 40-60 lpa and average varies 5-6 lpa . they also help in preparing for Off-Campus placements. I'm planning to land a decent placement after getting the degree.
Fee Structure And Facilities
the fee is almost a lakh for every semester. the college provides scholarship on various basis however the rules keep on changing for new Batches. marks based scholarship, then military background, siblings in the college, girl child, are a few scholarship criterias. there are campus jobs in our college after the completion of the course (I'm not sure about the whole procedure and eligibility for it)
Campus Life
the life is okayish. there is an annual Grafest in the college. also the student bodies organize various events from time to time. the library is fully equipped with the necessary text books and even novels, journals, etc. there is a single ground in the whole campus for football, cricket and volleyball and a building for indoor games and a gym. the college also has various committees, student chapters and clubs run by the students.
Admission
no I didn't. it was direct admission based on my marks in 12th. they did brief me about the course I'm enrolling in and showed me around the campus too before the admission. they give admission based on 12th marks or JEE performance for B.Tech. courses.
