College survivors

ISABELLA THOBURN COLLEGE, LUCKNOW There is a Christian quota in the college for Christian students. Admission criteria include 50% for science and 45% for art students in 12th. The admission process is absolutely smooth as student organization and college administration works together.

I chose B.Sc (biology) which included Zoology, Botany, and Chemistry as major subjects. For each course, you have more than 500 students in total were 55-60 students in each section. Teachers here are mostly Ph.D. holders and specialized in their own subjects. Since the college follows the Lucknow University patterns so the exams are organized absolutely as per them with the timely declaration of results on university websites. Exams are not very tough nor very easy. The average paper is set.

As Such, i don't have any data or which companies are approaching us. Recently Gyan Dairy approached our college for placements All I can say is internship and job opportunities are there. Also students from here went for the training program to CSIR.

Placements generally take place for final year students. Rest the students are eligible for certain internships. Also, the Placement cell here in the college offers French/ Spanish language classes as well.

Fees are quite affordable. For my course, B.Sc Bio fees are nearby 10000. Also, the college offers certain scholarships to meritorious students. Apart from that their is a placement cell functioning as well providing in campus placements.

At the college annual fest organized named AURA where colleges from all over Lucknow are invited to participate. The college has a huge library also. Since the college has a rich heritage the buildings are quite old but nevertheless the ambiance and vibes are absolutely worth staying there. At the college we have sports and many other co-curricular activities organized. Social clubs, placement cell,s and many other student clubs.

The hostel is quite huge and spacious but the honest experience is not much positive. Being a girls college the hostel community is extra sensitive with the security. Pretty much strict with the rules and regulations.
