Entrance Preview
There was no Entrance Test for this course (B. Com.) in this college. Reasons to go for this college Walking distance from residence, Oldest (know as Delhi College) College of North India, Two elder brothers also passed out from same college.
Placement Experience
In our knowledge, at the time of our passing out there were no such placement of job opportunities that were arranged by the college. I might be wrong but I was neither offered, nor did I avail any such facility from our college. Our college has been one of the reputed colleges of Delhi University and the alumna who passed from here are all fine products and are placed / serving on reputed organizations/ departments / businesses.
Fees and Financial Aid
I had not availed any scholarship facility but our college used to give scholarships for studious students. There were scholarships for PHD students, economically weak students and other-domicile students.
Campus Life
Campus life a Zakir Hussain Post Graduate Evening College was full of diversity, intellect, culture, energy, wisdom and discipline. The college premises is expansive with a football/ cricket ground, basket ball court, Table Tennis Room. There was separate boys' common room having space for boys to sit in idle time with provision for Carrom Board and Chess games. There was a separate common room for Girls.
Exam Structure
Examination structure too was pretty standard as per general Delhi University pattern. Exams were conducted once in a year at the end of the session. All subjects carried equal total and passing marks. Examination syllabus and final question papers were largely in-sync and as per expected patterns except for few exceptions.
Admission
Admission process was standard like across all Delhi University colleges. First we were supposed to fill a centralized admission form for this college as well other college of my choice where our choice of course was available. Post closure of form filling process, college had brought out percentage cut-off lists and then admissions were granted to eligible candidates under respective cut-off list(s).
Faculty
College faculty if I would be allowed to summarise in single creative word, then I would call them "Classic". In my course, all faculty were experienced hence old champs. Their teaching style was highly classical, patient and some of them were really mind-blowing while only a few were boring. Due to their extensive experience in Delhi's this most reputed college, they knew exactly how to teach the young & impatient ones.
