I cleared the NET-JRF examination conducted by CSIR, India. The IIT Bombay has very talented faculty members and opting for IIT Bombay for me was a very good decision.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course structure is very good for the research level. It has various new and existing basic courses, which already very use full for theory and practical points of view. The structure gives a lot of importance to the basic concepts behind a course and tries to connect these basic concepts with existing knowledge that students already have.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, The stipend varies from Rs 8000-28000. The student from UG and PG levels across the country can apply for summer and winter internships. Selected candidates are offered an internship along with a fellowship. The amount of fellowship varies from Rs 8000-28000. The tenure of the internship can be extended to the performance of students.

4.5

The institute conducts several technical and cultural events at the international level. Tech-fest is one of the largest technical festivals in Asia. Similarly, Mood Indigo is the largest cultural fest in Asia in which around 1 lack of students participates from different parts of the country as well as from international.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure varies according to courses. The fee structure is expensive but it is flexible in nature. Institute provides financial support for poor background students. The amount of fee per semester ranges between Rs. 19000 to 54000, depending on the course. Generally, the B.Tech courses have more fees than the PG courses.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, Alumni association provide scholarship for students. Institute also have their own fellowship. The institute recruits the teaching assistant and provides them, fellowship. A large fraction of fellowship is covered by the institute.

Campus Life

5

The campus life is very good. The gender ratio is 2:10. The campus life is very inserting. Across the institute, several sports facilities are available for boys and girls' separability and also at common places. From a competition point of view, there are several scientific events are conducted at the institute level as well as the department level.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is very good. It consists of multiple-choice as well as a written exam. During the semester the course consists of several quizzes and mid-term examinations. Generally, the quizzes are for one hour and students are doing well in such type of examination. The mid-term examination consists of 30 percent weightage. The final examination of 50 percent of total marks.

Admission

I got admission to IIT Bombay through a written examination conducted by IIT Bombay. Before entering into the examination, everyone has to clear a national level fellowship exam like CSIR-JRF, UGC-JRF, GATE, or NBHM. Then institute will shortlist a few candidates for writing and interview. Finally selected candidates to get admission to the institute.

Faculty

5

Faculties are very talented and efficient in all subjects. The faculties took some of the lectures and conducted tutorial classes in calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, probability, and regression analysis at UG and PG levels. These courses are solely for the understanding of the basic sciences. Faculties always paid more attention to the physical significance and applications of the concepts.

The entrance examination for postgraduate studies in IIT is GATE. But getting admission in IIT even after qualifying GATE is not easy. Your ranks in GATE must be less than 1000 to get admission in IIT. Those who score very (Gate score > 800) high can get admission directly in some IIT. For others, some departments take their own written exam followed by an interview.
