Remarks

The admission process was quite tedious as it is affiliated with Mumbai University thus there are series of procedures that need to be followed for admission. Admission was done based on marks obtained in the 12th standard and the NATA exam which is conducted every year and all over India. One has to go through a lot of paper works and verifications for several days to get admission. The staff members are quite friendly as they help in reviewing our paper and lets us know what all things are required. They work fast but the procedures are hectic.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The choice, of course, was my personal preference, but my friends have suggested this college which is quite well. The best thing in this field is the opportunity and the creativity part. The course curriculum can be said relevant for the Architecture point of view as people are getting a successful position in this field also and most of the knowledge comes once the student enters the field and one can not rely on college only. Faculties are helpful sometimes, few of them are college alumni and almost everyone has a masters degree and have completed their graduation and post graduation from well reputed colleges all over India. Exams are conducted twice a year based on semester patterns.

Internships Opportunities

4

The internship starts in the 8th Semester. Students have to work harder to make their CVs and Portfolios outstanding. Again the students are the one who has to approach to the fims for the internships just like the job placements. Talking about the roles then students get the opportunity to work in the core design team and even works like drafting etc are also provided. It is the student who has to make better choices. Although the University has stated the average salary for a paid internship most of the fims does not practice these architecture ethics.

Placement Experience

4

From semester 8 student becomes eligible it is a period when the internships began. Students are getting placed in very good firms throughout the country and even a few of them are getting positions in foreign countries. Around 70-75% are getting hired every year but mostly based on their performance throughout the year. I'm not sure whether the companies come to college and pick students but yes students have options and opportunities to approach the firm and they certainly get placed. Even faculties are also good helpful and give the opportunity to join their firm itself.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is quite ok if we compare it with other colleges with the same discipline i.e., around 1 Lakh to 1.5 Lakh a year so one can not complain about the fees structure. There is a scholarship which is provided by the college to help students who are good at studies and comes under non-creamy layer or whose parents annual income is less than 8 Lakh. ECBC is one of the scholarships which my friend has got benefit from in which either the tuition fees is waived off or just the part of it. The college did not help students during pandemics like COVID which is why its rate below is getting affected.

Campus Life

4.5

College's social life is good. Numerous events take place regularly. Alegria is one of the most awaited festivals of college. Various celebrities come to the college and give wonderful performances. Infrastructure is average neither bad nor very good. All the mandatory requirements are provided which are listed in University Guidelines for Colleges. There are Wifi connections in the college that may be sponsored by Airtel (not sure), but it certainly does not work properly. There is a canteen which is good along with its prices. Basketball courts, workshops and labs are also there. The library is quite useful.

The frequency of exam is twice a semester and good enough. Guest lectures are good and helpful for the future preparation. There must be a change in teaching styles of the faculty and more site based experiments through the course for better understanding than only in class studies , the beauty of historical buldings made me wonder about this course

Placement Experience:

For architecure departments, usually there are no placements, but since this Institute is autonomous, they have startes conducting placements drive. Last year 10/12 students were placed in good firms all over banglore, pune, kolhapur. I plan on applying to different firms all over Maharashtra and would also hope to get placement via college since the packages that are offered are good. Placement percentage is anywhere between 12-15%. The highest package offered was around 5,40,000, average package for a architecture student would be-around 3lakhs.

Placement Experience:

There is no campus placement for architecture students. After completion of the degree, one can apply for jobs or opt for masters. Architects get an average starting salary of 20-25 thousand. The course is pretty expensive including college fees and printing prices. One can also open a private firm and earn enough money. There are very few open students getting placed. My plans after getting a degree are to apply for masters. For a teaching job, one must complete masters.
