Remarks

I got admitted to Terna Engineering College through the CAP rounds of the Maharastra technical education department after the MHT-CET exams, the admission cut off for my course was around 110/200 in CET but I got admitted because my Jee mains marks were considered during the admission. My age was 18 at the time of admission as I had no gap years in my education. The admission process was smooth but was too lengthy and dealt with a lot of documentation. There was an orientation day in the first week after joining.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose computer engineering because I was very much interested in computer science and new technology and programming since high school, and also wanted to do engineering, so computer engineering was perfect for me. Faculty student ratio in TERNA engineering college is decent and is around 30:1, that is thirty students over one faculty member. The faculty is well qualified and the majority have completed their PhD. Teaching methods are decent, but some teachers are excellent mentors and are very open and supportive. Exams are conducted according to the Mumbai University pattern and if we study regularly it is not at all difficult to pass the semester and mid semester examinations.

Placement Experience

From semester 7, that is, from the fourth year of engineering students become eligible for college placements provided they complete other eligibility criteria like proper CGPA etc. Companies that come are mostly IT service sector companies like TCS, Capgemini, Wipro, LTI, HEXAWARE technology, to name a few. And the packages offered range from 3.5L to 12.5lakh CTC. Almost 60-70 percent of students get placed in any of the companies. My plan after getting the degree is to pursue higher education in the same field.

Fees and Financial Aid

Annual Fees for the course per annum is around 1 lakh 10 thousand rupees, in which around 84k is the tuition fee and the rest are development and college management fees. As I live near the college my expenses are less due to living with parents, but still, Nerul is not a very expensive area and hostel students can expect to need around 5 to 10 thousand per month. The scholarships are provided to students from the Maharastra government where fees get refunded to the students. There are placements in the college where mostly IT companies like TCS, LTI, Capgemini, Wipro, Microsoft, Tech Mahindra etc hire students who perform well.

Campus Life

Annual Fest and Tech fest happens in our college around August and February, Tech fest is named "Avalon", and is very good. An annual fest there are various cultural activities and DJ nights. Books of various types are available in the college library and it is a very good environment to study and complete notes. The classrooms are very big and well ventilated. There is a large turf and ground on the campus where various sports activities are conducted. There are also many clubs and groups in the college and also there is a social service unit called the 'terna NSS'

Placement Experience:

From 7th Sem, students are eligible for placements and undergo placement training. Many companies has visited so far but the big ones are Godrej, BEL, Framatome, etc. The highest package for mechanical was 7.5 LPA and the avg package was around 5 LPA with a majority of job roles as GET. Placement Experience:

If one wants direct placements in comapnies such as Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, TCS and many more, SIT is the place. Highest is still unbeatable as one student in 2023 got a paycheck of 50 lakhs per annum from SIT. Even the average is over 10 lakhs now as most students are placed through SIT placements cell.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. I applied for this college bcoz I want ai&ds branch and this branch is available in this college. And i checked all colleges nearby me so in thane there were no colleges were look good or has that much facilities shown in google and in central line there are some colleges but they has minority like Muslim, gujrati, christian and all in western line it will be far too regular travelling bcoz of family concern they not ready for hostel so I have to go for new mumbai colleges bcoz my relatives also live there so they concern me to check thane or new mumbai side college so in new mumbai that time I see only that college has those branch and my percentile of cet that time was 85 percentile something so in first list i got selected for sc ladies seat in those branch there are only 1 seat for ladies in those category so I got this so I thought it would be ok so I freeze those seat and get a admission by admission process in college so basically i didn't get rejected by any college. But that time while admission there are restrictions that only online payment will accepted so that time my family wasn't use online payment we was prefering cash so we have to request relatives to pay via online and then we give them cash so that part was terrifying And there are so many processes while admission 1st time.and not that all process in one floor another floors with another classrooms that was headache part bcoz we are with our parents that time .
