I applied for various b.tech colleges in Uttarakhand, at the time D.I.T. was not a university but it was the best college in Uttarakhand. I opted for the information technology branch. I got selected in I.T on the basis of my jee marks.
Course Curriculum Overview
I opted for this branch because of the growing I.T. sector. The faculty was well educated and talented and the ratio would have been around 1:70 which is good. Exams were bi annual with moderate difficulty.
Internships Opportunities
Many IT companies recruit freshers from different branches. The initial screening takes place for many companies. Usually, it's aptitude tests and in some cases, there are interviews after 2 or 3 screening processes.
Placement Experience
Many companies visit DIT such as ADOBE WIPRO TCS ACCENTURE as well as many startups. Approx 80 to 90% of students are placed every year. Students become eligible from 7 sem or maybe even 6 sem in some cases.
Fees and Financial Aid
10% fee hike every year approx. Studying at DIT is quite costly. The campus area is not big enough and no ground is available. There are scholarships for students and some financial assistance from college for some students.
Campus Life
The library is the best place in DIT with lots of books and magazines. Newspaper is made available every day. The classrooms are big and the facilities are modern. Only basketball and volleyball court are present on the campus for football and other sports you have to go to nearby grounds.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel accommodation is good, many facilities are available at the hostel. Rooms according to occupancy are divided. Freshers get the 3 person room in the hostel. Hostel fees are high along with mess fees but the food is nice. Rooms and pgs are also available nearby.
