Entrance Preview

I appeared for Iit-Jee(Mains) and scored 120 out of 360. The weightage of this exam was 60% and the remaining 40% included PCM marks of HSC examination. I opted for this college due to its autonomy status which has its own benefits.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The autonomy syllabus focusses more on technical aspects which is why we get a B.Tech Degree and not a BE Degree. Apart from this, we atleast have a months long vacation time after our semester examinations which could be used for industrial training.

Internships Opportunities

The college does provide internship, related to research work under the guidance of professors. The stipend as such is not provided but the work experience is great. The internship is not of a fixed duration as in industrial training, but can be done over a period of months. Also, certain companies do come for interviewing students and giving them internships.

Placement Experience

4.5

Majorty of the students get placements. Jobs are limited to core industries and are given only to few students. The rest find a place in IT sectors and marketing. The average package is around 3-4 lakhs for IT sector companies. Industries like Godrej, Bluestar and L&T are the core ones that provide jobs to mechanical engineers.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure as compared to other colleges is a bit expensive. Fee increases every year by 7-10%, and the cost has gone really high over the past 2 years. The fee for 2nd year students this year was around 1.8 lakhs. But the college has its own advantages and hence, people do not mind paying the amount. For the students who cant afford, there are scholarships that can be earned.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions

The college has various scholarships for the needy students as well as for the meritorious. There are certain scholarships which are based on both, income and grades and extra curricular activities, which i have availed.

Alumni/Alumna

The spread of the Alumni Network is wide. People graduated from this college are successful in their stream and do come back to help the college.

Admission

I had to apply through the CAP process, which is a general process for acquiring seats in a college under Mumbai University or which was affiliated to Mumbai University. We had three rounds of admissions in which if a student is aloted a college, seat could be secured by the student.

Faculty

4.5

Majority of the faculties are well qualified and have profound knowledge of the subject they teach. Many professors are going for higher education as a demand of the college. They can join back after they complete their course or could simultaneously teach and study.

Remarks:

he placements were pretty well. There were many students who were placed in MNCs. Most of the companies were IT based companies. Amongst all, only 1 core electronics company came to our college for recruitments. The highest package was around 4 LAP. Our college also provides opportunities for other off-campus drives which took place nearer to Solapur. The companies that came to the campus were mainly MNCs providing an average package of 2.5 LPA which is pretty well for a fresher graduated from a non-government college
