AN INSIGHT TO PRESTIGIOUS UNIVERSITY : TH M.S.UNIVERSITY OF BARODA

The maharaja sayajirao University of Baroda has a department of environmental science- which is a higher payment course of 3 (graduation)+2(masters) years. the department conducts an entrance test for screening out the best candidates for the application of the same. Based on merit, the students are selected and the procedure of admission starts. The minimum eligibility criteria to apply for this program is 12/hsc with physics chemistry, biology/maths. The program consists of many interesting subjects which do not only have theoretical importance but a practical approach as well. The department and program make sure that student connects with nature and often takes them to national parks and nature trails in India. Many competitions and exhibitions related to environmental science are also encouraged. The teachers with high experience and expertise provide the best of their knowledge makes topics easy to understand for students.

All the faculty members and professors are ph.d holders long with net qualifications. The course provides exciting insight into different aspects of the environment and nature along with allied topics like disaster management, remote sensing, environmental chemistry, etc the student class size ranges to 40-45 which makes it easy to have a focus on all the students hence the doubts and queries re easily solved too. Use of av methods and practical approach on the field provides a better understanding of the subject. All the internal exams and external exams were carried out timely and if read well it's easy to crack the exam.

Various industries like a green circle, Kadam consultancy, Akshay greens, vecl, and many more provide students with great opportunities with stipends depending upon their engagement period. the government organizations like isro, bisag, Geer, ges also extend their services to students to explore in this field.

Generally, the students after bachelor course become eligible for placements or they can go for higher studies like post-grad generally the industries having etp/stp, qa/qc etc opt for environmental students for their ability to work for a wide range of topics. Generally students of all percentage groups beg jobs just the salary varies based on their output of knowledge.

The department provides students with financial curbs with scholarships. The scholarship further encourages students to reflect best of their knowlegde the fee hike is usually not seen during the course being a higher payment course the fee is fixed generally.

The department owns its own library consisting a wide range of books, journals and magazines covering environmental and allied topics. While the classrooms are equipped with projectors, mics, sound systems, and proper light so that holistic learning takes place. The department conducts exhibition mainly on science day and environmental day.
