Entrance Preview

I qualified CSIR-NET, GATE and IISC entrance exam to get through this college. There are two rounds of interview once you've cracked one of the above mentioned exams and you're through in the interview list.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

The course structure of IISC is world know. They follow typical USA style credit structure and examination style. Students can go to any department to take courses and help themselves in building fundamentals for the area they're going to opt for the research.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Very Feasible, Once you get through in any course you get stipend here. Fee id deducted by the stipend itself so you don't have to pay any penny as fee once you're a part of this institute. Hostel and mess fee is also reasonable which floats around 1000 and 3000 INR respectively.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, MHRD gives scholarship to each student here. It ranges from 8000 to 28000 INR depending upon the course that you're enrolled in. You get 25000 rs. tax free loan which can be returned in 10 installments.

Campus Life

5

Awesome, That's the only word comes into my mind. IISc is a lush green campus with minimum pollution and maximum environment friendly measure. Students studying here are from all the ethnicity, race and from all parts of the world. Leave aside discrimination, everyone living inside make one family.

Alumni/Alumna

IISc alumni are in almost all the major universities and companies of the world. I can't comment on the part of how they help IISCIANS as I've not come across any such incidence.

Exam Structure

Exam structure is clean. Most of the course instructor take open notes/books exam. Few of them do follow the conventional exam style. There are a set of assignments during the course which have due credits in the evaluation of the final grade. Course instructors (teacher) at the first stance give out notifications regarding the structure of the course they're going to take.

Admission

Cleared IISc's entrance test and got the interview call. There are two rounds of interview. In the first panel they ask for the basics related to atmospheric, geophysical and oceanic sciences. And in the final round of interview they mostly ask questions related to your master's thesis and the kind of work you're going to opt for your Ph.D.

Faculty

5

All the faculties are devoted for the state of the art teaching and that's what makes IISc best Indian university and ranks it 36 at the global platform. Course instructors (teacher) at the first stance give out notifications regarding the structure of the course they're going to take. Depending upon the needs, students from the different departments opt out the courses.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Faculties are highly knowledgeable and with 100% interest, they put lots of effort to make students understand the concept. Each class has about 55 to 60 students. Monthly internal exams are taken thrice a semester and at the end of each semester, an external exam is there. External exam papers and checking are done by VTU University. If we study the prescribed textbook thoroughly they we can score very decent marks in the final exam. Everything marking, paper setting etc is done fairly since it comes under VTU. Under VTU more than 200 colleges come under so you can imagine how reputed VTU university is and so is the final degree provided also have a lot of value outside the college. Therefore I suggest you join the Don Bosco Institute of Technology.

I have the best faculty with extreme expertise but a few are irregular and careless about the students. The ones who take class do it really well. The class strength had quite an impact over the classes but still was good.
