Aparna Bharadwaj's Review On Veer Surendra Sai University Of Technology - [VSSUT], Burla

I took the Joint Entrance Examination(Main). My score was 66 and after calculating the qualifying exam normalised score, my total was 82.40. My All India Rank was 179273. I opted for Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology because it is the oldest state government technology college of Odisha and a very reputed one.

The course I have opted for( B.tech in Information Technology) is divided in 8 semesters, per year 2 semesters. The course was duly approved by AICTE and offered by the University from the academic session 2003-2004 on self financing basis. Presently, the course will run under the Department of Computer Science & Engineering of this University.

The college collaborate with industries to provide for internships and training.The stipend normally depends upon the qualifications of students but the experience is quiet useful. The college tries to educate the students in the vacation also via such internships and trainings. Proper amount of vacation to spent in home and rest to devote towards career.

The college provides with 6 boys hostel and 5 girls hostel and 2 under construction. The hostels are walk able distance from the college.The hostel rooms are shared by 3-4 people and are well spaced with cupboards and tables. The mess food is very decent. The mess provides 4 meals a day and including beverages during evening. The food is cooked in very hygienic conditions and are properly monitored.

The examinations pattern is very smooth. The course consists of 8 semesters. Each semester we have to appear for internals of 20 marks for each subject and the end semester papers for 70 marks. The 10 marks for assignment ,class test, attendance etc. The 4 laboratory exams each semester consists of 100 marks. The extra curricular activities and exams are well handled in such system.

First I appeared for the joint entrance examination(main) through that score I applied for Odisha JEE Counselling process via which the Odisha government colleges take admissions.For the counselling I applied for various colleges in Odisha and locked a choice list with different branches. After the counselling was done, I was provided with the college name and branch my score deserved.

The faculty of the institution are well qualified. The subjects are properly assigned to the professors plus the laboratory classes are well assigned. The faculties are mostly done with their Phds or higher education. The faculty seems very interested with the proper amount of knowledge to be given away with notes already prepared and uploaded in official website of the college.
