Course Curriculum Overview

3

The courses we are studying is quite good for us but still the laboratories are outdated. There are various subjects like electrical machines, measurement and Instrumentation, digital system design. I am a Gate aspirant thus I am trying to gain the electrical part as much as possible. The labs should get changed. It is quite hard to handle for both exams and curriculum. As lab tests and viva are the main focus to get marks, we have to study for it before examination, which affects our preparation for the aforesaid examination.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure for the first year program is divided into two parts for my branch(EEE). One is Regular and another is Self Sustaining. Regular fees is 38,825. But Self Sustaining is quite higher 61,125. This division of fees is purely based on the availability of seats on each section. The tuition fees is 44,100 per semester (SSC).

Campus Life

4

The annual and technical fest both happen on the same time during February. The technical fest is named as SAMAVESH. The annual fest is termed as VASSAUNT. We have a library known as Central Library. It's the main study hub for everyone. Smart boards are used for teaching. The annual sports fest known as ILLUMINA is started in mid December. Moreover there is a badminton ground in every hostel, a cricket ground for some hostels. There are various clubs in Vssut. IDEA AND INNOVATION CLUB, AUDIO VISUAL CLUB, ROBOTICS CLUB, ISTE STUDENTS' CHAPTER, VEERS RACING, VEERS RACERS, IEEE SOCIETY, ASME.

Admission

I have applied to only Outr(formerly Cet Bhubaneswar). I have applied on the technical branches, but got none of them as my rank was around 152000. As Cet is not very good for its core branches, so I preferred Vssut over it. To get technical branches in cet bhubaneswar your rank should be under 50000 in Jee mains. The admission process is through the OJEE COUNSELLING. It is the counselling only for the students of odisha and anyone out of Odisha appearing the OJEE examination. The eligibility of our college is 45 percent. The admission process is quite hassle free. As once you got the seat in ojee counselling.

Faculty

Most of faculties have a good approach towards learning and make understand the concept. The faculty to student ratio is terrible. It's around 1:70. But some of the faculties don't have a proper handwriting. It's very hard to understand the way the explain every bit. Mrs Sarmila Garnaik, Associate professor in the department of electrical and electronics engineering. She is the most relaxed person I have ever seen. She taught Universal Human Values in First year. This was one of the best experience of learning in the start. There is a total of 16 exams both mid semester and End semester examination. Midsem are quite harder as compared to end semester examination. Most of the students start studying for any exam before one day of the examination. But 99 percent student pass through every examination. Our course curriculum has freshly changed due to NEP 2020. But the curriculum is same as old one.

Night Life

4

Most of the students go to gym and hang by nearby market for chilling. The gym most nearby is Poolclub gym. Some of the students engage in studies after classes in libraries which is open up to 8 PM. Some of the hostels with their timing are Pulaha hall of residence - For first year is 6 PM. Agastya Hall of Residence - For 2nd year is 7 pm. Some of the famous hangout area are like hirakud dam, Right dyke. As the college is not incampus made so it is advisable to stay in Hostel after 10 pm. But security guards are there always 24/7.

Other Applied Colleges

College of Engineering and Technology - [CET] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electrical Engineering)

This college is not that much good fore core branches like electrical sciences. Vssut is a far more better option than Cet in comparison of core branches.

Stduents get eligible from 5th semester for placements peaking at 6th semester of the college. Companies like Infosys, TCS, Tiger Analytics etc came but big pacakge placements offers are low . The highest package was 32 LPA and the average goes to 5-6LPA. The percentage goes to 90 % for placements. After getting degree you can go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Placements at KIIT University for B.Tech CSE are decent and well structured, especially for students who prepare consistently. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, although pre placement talks training sessions and internships start from the 5th or 6th semester. The university has a centralized placement cell that coordinates training aptitude tests mock interviews and company drives. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year including TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini Deloitte EY Mindtree LTI Bosch HP Amazon and a few product based startups. Mass recruiters make a large number of offers while product and service based companies offer selective roles. The average package for CSE students usually ranges between 4 to 5 LPA, while the highest package can go above 20 to 25 LPA in exceptional cases depending on the company and role such as software developer or data engineer. Around 75 to 85 percent of CSE students get placed through campus placements. Students who remain unplaced usually pursue higher studies startups off campus jobs or competitive exam preparation. Placement success largely depends on individual effort coding skills internships and communication ability. After completing my degree I plan to work in the software industry to gain practical experience and improve my technical skills. Alongside my job I also plan to upskill in advanced technologies and later consider higher studies or specialized roles depending on career growth.

Placement Experience:

I would rate the placements at my college as 3 out of 5. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the sixth or seventh semester, and a few well-known companies do visit the campus every year. The placement cell helps with basic training like resume building and interviews, and many students, especially from IT branches, manage to secure jobs. At the same time, the average salary packages are not very high and top roles are limited, so a lot of students also focus on skill development, off-campus opportunities or higher studies after completing their degree

Placement Experience:

Placements at IIIT Bhubaneswar are generally good and improving, especially for students who stay consistent with coding, projects, and internships. In my college, students usually become eligible for campus placements from around the 7th semester (4th year), while many students start getting internship opportunities and pre-placement offers from the 5th–6th semester itself depending on skills. Every year, companies from the software and IT domain visit the campus for roles like Software Developer / SDE, QA, Analyst, Web Developer, and sometimes Data-related roles, and students also get offers through off-campus applications. Some of the common recruiters include companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant, Accenture, along with product/startup opportunities depending on the year, and multiple students receive more than one offer as well. The highest package and average package vary every year and depend a lot on branch, performance, and market conditions, but overall the college provides decent placement support and training sessions like aptitude, DSA guidance, and interview preparation. The placement percentage is also fairly good for students who actively participate in the placement process, while the rest generally go for higher studies or off-campus roles. After completing my degree, my plan is to either secure a good software developer role through campus/off-campus and build experience, or if I feel more interested academically, I may prepare for higher studies or competitive exams along with improving my skills.

Campus placement i thik it's in your 4 year of engineering only i.e in your 6 semester. There is a lot of companies visited like jsw ,hindulgo and a lot to go . Jsw provides avg package of INR 12 LPA And it selected only 2 students only. I think girls get placement easily as compared to boys ... companies usually select more female candidates....I think I will go for job rather than doing masters degree.
