Bsc (vocational) honours

St. Xavier's college is one of the most prestigious colleges of Ranchi. It provides a wide range of courses. I applied for bsc biotechnology (vocational). It's admission procedure involves filling of admission forms online. Entrance test is conducted and within 4-5 weeks results are published. Relaxations are provided to SC, ST and OBC groups. Marks and fees relaxation are being provided. They issue 3 lists of selected students. No counselling as such happens.

I choose BSc biotechnology (vocational) because of my interest in the subject . The faculty members are good . The ratio of the faculty members with respect to students is fine. We have a class strength of 57 and total number of faculty members are 4 teachers 1 lab incharge and 1 lab assistant. The quality of faculty is from good to average. Classrooms are good . We get good quality experiment instruments and necessary products required for experiments. Term exams are held on time. No delays. Results are also published before next exam. The standard of questions are good. When studied sincerely you can clear exam with good scores.

Students are provided with internship opportunities in the 3rd or the last year of the graduation course. With respect to their field, they are provided with the internship at different places. Our field is more research-oriented so we are provided with more lab experience likewise different subject students are provided with different opportunities.

Fees for vocational courses are high. However general honours fess are relatively low. They do provide facilties of the fees paid. E- kalyan is scholarship provided by the university. I am still pursuing my degree therefore I do not know much but on campus placements do occur. Few industrial companies come for hiring students .

The annual fest is organized in the month of February. Sports day and many other events are organized in the college campus. All major festivals and national holidays are celebrated and classes are off. Notices are published with regard to the same. There is a general library and department libraries are also available. In the general library, you can read books or complete notes and study according to your comfort. Magazines and newspapers are also provided. You can issue books from both the general or departmental libraries. There is a gym facility also. You can avail it. As per your field of interest, you can take part in any group or individual sport. Rotaract club, NSS, NCC, AICUF, Hullad are some of the prominent culturak and social groups of the college. There are many in-department groups. Accordingly, the department also organizes some events with respect to their field.
