Remarks

Himalayan University, esteemed as one of the best the Premier Engineering Institute in India, was promoted by a group of visionaries from varied Professions of Engineering, Medical, Law and Management to facilitate Quality Education to the Students and contribute towards meeting the needs of Skilled and Technically conservant professionals for the country that embarked on an Economic Growth Plan. Hence, I have chosen to take admission only to this college. Students who want to take admission in the college should have completed their 10+2 from a recognizedd board and must have secured a minimum of 50% aggregate marks at their class 12 level to be eligible to pursue a BA course offered by the college. A 5% marks relaxation is also provided for the SC/ST candidates.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I have chosen this course because graduates from BA degree programmes have many more career opportunities and tend to earn more than those without an undergraduate degree. In addition to the professional benefits, obtaining a BA degree can have great personal advantages as well. BA programs present students with challenges that improve their creative thinking, problem solving, and interpersonal and communication skills among others. The faculty to students ratio of our college is 1:17. Our college has Qualified and Competent faculty members who take care of every student in the academic subjects as well as in their social training, and the faculty members are also involved in bringing about correct social behaviour in the students. This is the essence of discipline at our college and our faculties use a variety of methods-individual, groups and whole class teaching accordingly as per the needs of the students.

Placement Experience

5

Most of the popular companies that visit our college during the campus placements are ACCENTURE, MICROSOFT, IBM, AMAZON, WIPRO, TCS, INFOSYS and COGNIZANT. During the campus placements, the highest package offered is 21.43 lakhs per annum and the average package offered is 4.39 lakhs per annum. Our college provides placement to around 94-98% of students, during the campus placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

Himalayan University has introduced various scholarship programmes to provide financial assistance to deserving, needy and meritorious students. The renewal of the scholarships is based on their academic performance and overall conduct during the previous year. Conditions such as academic performance, maintenance of attendance, not using unfair means in examination apply for continuation of the scholarship. Our college also provides financial support to postgraduate students by providing monthly stipends based on their merit. The first 9 GATE qualified students get Rs 12.4k per month and all remaining students get Rs 5k per month. Such students are assigned an academic load limited to eight hours per week as decided by the department.

Campus Life

5

The library of Himalayan University is stocked with around 1.43 lakh books, research journals, reports, multi-volume reference works, dictionaries, encyclopedias and handbooks to propel the academic and research growth of the students and faculty members. The library is periodically re-equipped with all the printed and e-resources from diverse streams to provide the latest tools to support teaching, learning and research activities. Himalayan University provides state of the art facilities with outdoor playgrounds, a swimming pool, lawn tennis, badminton, volleyball and basketball courts, a gymnasium and several sporting activities that help students to stay fit and develop to develop a spirit of sportsmanship. The sports centre at our college also provides various opportunities and encourage the students to participate in intra-college, inter-college and university level sports competitions.

Hostel Facilities

5

The Himalayan University provides accommodation to the students on a first come first served basis. The hostels provide a warm and cordial environment full of opportunities for personal growth and the holistic development of the students. Keeping in view the comfort and ideal hospitality, the college provides a secure, comfortable, hygienic and healthy environment for the hostellers. The hostel also offers excellent lodging, boarding and laundry facilities to cater for the needs of the students. Every hostel complex has a dedicated mess with well equipped kitchen and dining space providing hygienic, nutritious and wholesome meals to the students. In addition to the various facilities, the hostel also has an exclusive tennis court, basketball and badminton court and a modernized gymnasium for facilitating health and fitness.
