Well initially I wanted to go to DU as usual but due to insufficient grades I was not able to fulfill there cutoff criteria. So then therefore I applied for Amity. They took a short and pretty simple interview and that's all.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure, I have to say is pretty vast. I don't about other courses but in applied sciences department there are around 8-10 subjects in a semester including a foreign language which is mandatory to study. It's mostly good but still there are some subjects which I personally think are not really relevant for our course.
Internships Opportunities
I guess it provides internship programs and stuff but since I haven't taken up any of them myself I'm not pretty clear about how they're conducted and which all companies pay interest in our college students.
Placement Experience
From what I've heard, placements are pretty good, not that everyone is happy with theirs. But still I have yet to complete my course and therefore couldn't tell you exactly how I feel about them and how is the overall experience. Some of the companies that I've heard that usually offer placements in our college are HCL and other adjacent companies.
College Events
There are many events that our college hosts like an annual "sanghatan" which is celebration of our founders birthday day. During that period there are many inter-department matches over various sports and activities. Also there is the youth fest which is, I think pretty average but still the crowd is full of energy and in the end makes up for a pretty nice evening.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee I'd have to say is more on the expensive side than the feasible. Some of the courses like engineering and management could cost upto 2-3 lacks per semester which is pretty expensive. My course I feel is one of the cheapest courses they offer with fee around ₹50000 per semester excluding hostel fees and other stuff.
Fees and Financial Aid
I don't know about any scholarship programs that the college has to offer neither do I know about the loan and stuff.
Campus Life
The gender ratio, I feel is pretty even throughout the college with some exceptions leaning towards feminine side. Also there is, I could say less tolerance in the students on the grounds of economic status and sexual orientation but other than that it's a pretty decent crowd.
Hostel Facilities
Since I haven't applied for the hostel, I can't tell you exactly how it is but from what I've heard the hostel accommodation isn't great but still is pretty decent. The fee for hostel is about 70 k 140 k depending upon whether you prefer AC or not. This doesn't include the food expenses. The quality of food in the college in average with some places having food just above average.
Admission
Firstly I had to fill the application online on their website and then I was allotted a dated for an interview. After the interview they told me whether I was selected or not and then gave me date for the orientation program. On the orientation they cleared any queries and verified our documents.
Faculty
The faculty of our department is good. Of course there are some exceptionally good teachers along with some teachers that I personally think have no clue about what they are teaching. But I think that's pretty normal since the response from us, students also affects a teacher's attitude towards us.
