Entrance Preview

No Entrance exam Only my ISC grades were used. In which I scored 85%. Its the best commerce college in Kolkata.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course was B.Com (Hons). They had great emphasis on economics. It was a very pleasurable and knowledgeable experience. The faculty was well versed and the course material were up to date. It really helped me in understanding the current economic scenario and accounting principles.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fees structure was expensive at that time compared to other colleges. The initial admission fees was Rs 25,000. With quarterly fees of Rs 9000. Overall it is an expensive college with all other extra curricular also being charged at hefty rates.But the services provided was comparable with the fees charged.

Campus Life

We had more females than males. Ratio was 2:1 females vis-a-vis male. The extracurricular facilities of our college was top notch. We had most advanced sports facilities with the team qualifying for national level in cricket as well as basketball. There were also debate facilities and other dramatics.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is very strong and growing by the day. They can be helpful. People from all walks of life are now a part of the ever growing Alumni network.

Exam Structure

Exams were held every quarterly. We had general,Part I, Part II examination structure over the 3 year course. In college exams were quarterly with very cool atmosphere. No pressure as such. The main exams we had been allotted centres and had to go there for the exams.

Admission

Forms were available in hard copy at that time from the college campus. We had to fill with our ISC marks. They come up with a cut-off and then put the list accordingly. A second list is also put up as per availability of seats. Overall a very smooth and transparent selection process without any difficulties.

The faculty were top notch. Coming from different streams the best was selected for Hons courses. They were young as well as experienced and very co operative. Their level of knowledge of their respective stream was commendable.Overall a very nice experience with the best faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose to pursue my B.COM (Hons) degree from JD Birla Institute purely because of the rankings. It is affiliated with a well-known university. This college focuses a lot on academics and is very strict about punctuality. The level of difficulty during exams is moderate. If you study hard, you score well, if you don't, you get the marks you deserve. No biasness on that.

Course Curriculum Overview:

At my HS I choose commerce and I score 75% that's why I join B.com Hons, there is at least 5 to 6 professor available at a time for every subject, and when anyone of student has a doubt they solve it immediately or after the class end, they are well qualified as they have Dr. degree, every year there are 2 examinations, it was not so easy or not so suffer.

Decent professors with good environment

Remarks:

Decent college to study at an affordable fee structure. Any middle class or poor category student can afford to study in the college quite easily I don't regret being a student of the college at all.

Remarks:

There are a no. Of positive remarks as the students get a pool of friends not only from India but also from outside India . The college infrastructure is very good and faculties and seniors are very supportive. The only negative fact is that the attendance is very strict and attendance less than 75% in any subject will lead to suspension from examination in that particular subject.

I choose this college because this college is one of the really good colleges out there in Kolkata. Also, bhawanipur education society, Kolkata is highly reputed and occupies a place under Calcutta university. I always wanted to go to Kolkata to persue my higher studies, as I'm from a commerce background and Kolkata is a hub for commerce students. The reason for choosing bhawanipur education society over other colleges was that alongwith the course-related studies it also provides with the overall development of personality. It provides us with a lot of exposure to sports, and etc. Also, the attendence criteria are quite lenient, which helps the students to pursue other courses alongwith. My experience till now at Bhawanipur education society, Kolkata.

I chose this college above any other college because this is one of the best colleges of Calcutta university. And since, I'm pursuing CA course along with my BCOM Hons, the attendance criteria out here is quite lenient which will help me to focus on my CA course in a better way. The merits of this college are - 1) the attendance criteria out here is quite lenient 2) these teachers here are very helpful and supportive when it comes to doubt solving. 3) this college provides us with various co-curricular activities like sports and etc. 4) the campus placement opportunities are very high at this college.
