Entrance Preview

Being a J&K migrant i was allowed to give Karnataka CET. My score was around 80-90 and rank 13501. This college was the best option i had at that time. I wanted to pursue my engineering in Computer Sciences and this college in particular was good in placements and faculty back then.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is good enough for theoretical knowledge to students but it fairly lacks in imparting practical knowledge or hands on sessions to the students apart form the weekly sessions. The focus of college is mainly on scoring high in the exams. There is no choice of electives and you'll be forced to select that elective as the faculty is not available (esp. in CSE).

Internships Opportunities

No, The internship opportunity was not provided by the college and in fact it was strongly vouched against as it leads to attendance shortage. Internship was only offered if a company requested the college to do so and in that also only 2 students in the entire batch was allowed. They got a stipend of 25000 from IBM.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placements are average as no high package company ever came but college got 95+% placements atleast for CSE branch. Others branches were also around 90% placement ratio. Top recruiters were Infosys -145 students and Wipro 120 students and salary offered by them was 3.25lpa.

College Events

2.5

Our main cultural fest PANTHEON is celebrated once every two years. The events are same as in all the fests but compared to other famous colleges this college doesn't spend on fests like these. It has a very basic budget. The chief guests, celebrities and bands were all local and of course there was hardly any crowd from outside our college(apart from participants).

Fee Structure And Facilities

Being a CET student i feel that fee is really feasible. It was 35 k for tuition fee and 40 k for hostel. The hostel fee definitely can be reduced but as such is not expensive compared other colleges in bangalore. For those coming from Management Quota i feel that its way too expensive. They can join better college with the same amount of money and get a better experience.

Fees and Financial Aid

The scholarships were only provided to OBC and other reserved category from the University. The college has never given any scholarship to any student(even university toppers). Instead they used to charge for low attendance and other stuffs.

Hostel Facilities

2

The hostel room for boys are all 3 sharing. Option is only between attached(Rs.37000) and non-attached bathrooms(Rs.39000). The mess provides breakfast, lunch and dinner (completely south indian food). The mess food is really bad most of the times and also its not hygenic at all. 70% of students end up having dinner daily outside.

Alumni/Alumna

The Alumni network is existing but i hardly got any interaction with my alumni as there was never a session or meeting with them. The college only calls 2-3 highest package placed students for all their fests as judges and others are barely even contacted. I don't think alumni network is of much use for all students.

Exam Structure

The exam structure is pretty lenient. You'll be having enough time to prepare for all the exams and labs. There will be a gap of atleast 2 days in final sem exams and lab exam also will have a gap of atleast a day. I can conclude that the exam structure was chilled out.

Admission

After the written exam I was called for counselling by KEA and i got the college VVCE in the first round of counselling. After 2 weeks there was one more round of counselling where I got RNSIT. I was handed a receipt by KEA which I took to my college and then after paying the tuition fee and hostel fee I was admitted to this college.

Faculty

3.5

Few senior faculty members are exceptionally good but rest all just read out what is mentioned in the texts. They don't have fair knowledge on the subject and face difficulty to answer students questions. The faculty only focuses on scoring high in the semester exams and try to refrain form answering out of the syllabus questions(which are needed in most interviews). The faculty of the college needs a drastic improvement.

The courses are very nice since it is an autonomous college the courses have been designed to provide the students with knowledge of the latest technology and the need of the hour. Although the new subjects becomes a little difficult to understand sometimes at the end it's going to benefit us itself .

Placement Experience:

The institute records an impressive average package of ~INR 7.20 LPA and the highest packages reaching up to INR 53.50 LPA. The college actively drives employability through a dedicated 'Talent Transformation Hub'. Campus Placements Overview CIT is known for its solid industry connections, resulting in 80–90% placement rates annually. Top Recruiters: Companies like Accenture, Infosys, HP, Amazon, and Samsung. The Process: The placement cell conducts specialized skill-building boot camps and provides structured mentorship to ensure students are corporate-ready by graduation. If Placements Fall Short: Employability & Alternative Plans Even though CIT consistently places the vast majority of its batch, students who do not secure on-campus job offers (or wish to pursue other paths) have robust support through: Startup & Entrepreneurial Initiatives: CIT has an active E-Cell and a business connection to help budding founders. The Talent Transformation Hub focuses on practical knowledge needed to start a business. Higher Education: Students frequently leverage the college's alumni network and faculty mentorship to prepare for competitive exams like GATE, or to apply for Master's programs (MS, M.Tech) in India or abroad. Off-Campus Drives & Internships: Students are encouraged to undertake industry internships and live projects to build their portfolios, making it easier to land off-campus roles at top tech companies.

This is the best part. The whole point of niat program is to get a study for the job. It's not like the old system where you chill for 3 years and panic in the 4th year. All the learning here are very different. From the first day itself we will be doing coding.

Students at RVCE become eligible for campus placements typically from the seventh semester onwards. Several reputed companies visit the campus for recruitment, offering a wide range of job opportunities to students. Some of the prominent companies include Infosys, Wipro, TCS, IBM, and Accenture, among others. These companies make a significant number of job offers across various profiles, including software development, consulting, and research. The highest package offered varies from year to year and can range from ?10-20 lakhs per annum, depending on the company and the profile offered. The average package generally falls between ?4-8 lakhs per annum. The percentage of students getting placements varies, but RVCE has a consistently high placement record, with a significant majority of students securing job offers during campus placements. As for my plans after completing the degree, I aim to explore job opportunities in the field of industrial management, leveraging the skills an
