Remarks

When I qualified for my 12th exams my parents saw a dream of sending me to a foreign country but at the moment I qualified for my entrance exam it was realised that it is out of their budget. Then I preferred two colleges Punjab University and Chandigarh University and the moment I visited both and came to know that still, I can go foreign by taking admission in CU. It was one of the best decisions of my life that I decide to join this university as it has provided me with a lot of exposure and has the best infrastructure. This university focus on the study along with entertainment and expertise webinars for the overall development of the students. As I scored above 90% in my senior secondary so I got a 50% scholarship in my whole course. I had taken the admission online through Collegedunia so as I got the news about semester exchange programs and knowing that My marks are suitable for this admission I just filled the form.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I had a passion to serve my society especially the females who are the victims of domestic violence. So this was one of the best courses through which I can provide justice to the females. In every class, there is a ratio of 120 students with one faculty but the subjects such as mentoring, moot court and other practical subjects the classes are divided among two groups and both the groups either have classes under different teachers or on alternative days. The university teaching pattern is student-centric. The teachers are well versed in the subject and have in-depth knowledge. During the phase of covid when the universities were facing difficulties in taking online classes and exams in that period this university has adopted the blended mode of learning through blackboard application and has conducted the exams as it used to conduct physically in MCQ format on Amcat. The difficulty level of exams was medium even during the pandemic I used to score highest in my class.

Internships Opportunities

4

To the law students, the university offers placements in various law firms and under various advocates with fixed stipends. Even the university provides abroad internship programs during vacations. Under various companies, the law students are given drafting tasks such as drafting bail, will, affidavit, court file, research writing and more depending upon the firm's requirement. In the court internships, the students work under the guidance of experienced advocates where they get a chance to view the court proceedings and learn about various documents which are needed in a case, the evidence required and how to prepare court files.

Placement Experience

4.5

The university has been awarded the best placement award. Even during the pandemic when everyone was jobless this university has provided placement to 7412 and the highest package was 36 LPA. The students are eligible for placements in the third year and even after that. The requirement for placement is 7-9 cgpa. After completion of my degree, I am planning to pursue LLM along with judiciary preparation. Even the university provided such competitive exams classes within the campus.

Fees and Financial Aid

Generally, the fees of Chandigarh University is 45000 for the 2019 batch per semester but the university provides scholarships on various grounds such as scores in 12th standard, caste basis and in case the students need to study through loans the university provides that also. The scholarship which I have received from my university was on my marks criteria and as I have just cleared the 2nd year of my 5 year course so till now I have not got any placement but for my development, the university has recommended me many research project and even in moot competitions in which I have received a best memorial award too. The university even provides internships to the students for the field experience with a stipend too.

Campus Life

5

Chandigarh University has the best infrastructure which provides students with a home-like feel. It organises various entertaining and knowledgeable events such as annual and tech fest every year for showcasing the talents and even organise expertise sessions for enhancing the knowledge of the students. The university has libraries in all the departments with various books and journals which can be easily accessed by the students even after college hours the students can sit there and study. The classrooms are very airy and clean. The university organises various inter-department and events at national and international levels and even among hostels the various sports and academic competitions. In the evening the university has set up various clubs where the students can enhance their extracurricular skills such as dance, singing etc.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There are 3 to 4 buildings hostels for girls on the university campus. The hostel consists of a mess, a tuck shop, a garden, a gym and rooms & bathrooms. The hostel floors and other equipment such as bathrooms and washrooms are cleaned on daily basis. On various occasions such as Ganesh Chaturthi, Lohri, Holi the university organises events where all the students gather and dance and celebrate those particular issues and performs the rituals related to that occasion. The hostel cost is 86000 which included the food electricity cost and gym. The quality of the meal is very good even in case the student is not feeling well then in the meal they are provided with food like khichdi and fruits too. In case everyone is not feeling well or suffers any injury the university has its dispensary and even medical room in the hostel so in the ambulance the child is taken to the dispensaries.

In our college student become elgible for placement from 9th semester onwards i.e the second last semester.
