Remarks
I applied to just 2 colleges for admission, one was DU Ramjas college, and the other was JSS ACADEMY OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION. Fee waiver seat is provided to students with low family income but I wasn't eligible for that. No age restriction for admission but you have to clear JEE mains examination with a good rank. Earlier UPSEE was conducted every year but not now. Yes, as soon as the scorecard of JEE main releases the counselling date is announced. Generally, it is 15-20 days later.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is not industry sufficient and usually, that's common in all government engineering colleges specifically AKTU. Faculty: student ratio is 1: 40. Teachers are well qualified but still, they aren't able to provide practical approaches and ideas and alternatives. Internal exams are held thrice a semester and external exams are at end of every semester. Still, tests are easy and not difficult to pass if you have recently studied.
Internships Opportunities
Internship opportunities are also decent. No On-campus internships, you have to try all by uourself only. College only provides assistance to the internships for which we have to pay the company, which is very bad. But you can have chat with seniors they can help you out. The only problem is the competition in the college.
Placement Experience
As it is a 3rd tier college, so placements are decent. Even for Off-campus placements, there is no brand value from the college side, but students from the 7th semester are eligible for campus internships. The highest package offered was around 30 LPA. The percentage of students getting placed depends upon the branch. That's it overall it is decent.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is really strange as per the reputation of the college it should have been a little less. Still, fees have increased. The estimated cost for this program is 9 lakhs (hostel fee and personal expenses are included). No financial assistance is provided from the college side, but you can avail of scholarships offered by the UP government, i.e., around 40-40k per year. I have not yet completed college but the placements are decent. The highest package is 31 lakhs, the average is around 6 lakhs. All in all, when compared to other colleges it is pretty good.
Campus Life
Campus life is pretty good, I just loved the greenery on the college premises. It's amazing like no other college in the NCR region There are loads of events that are organised almost every month. JSS's Fest ZEALICON is famous all over the NCR region with 1000 + events and programs, DJ night and many more fascinating things. It goes from 4-5 days. Sports and extracurricular activities are also great. I have seen the ground and it was just too big. The campus is lush green and clean.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel is awesome considering the fee, but the rooms are not that large to occupy 3 people, so there is some congestion, but there is a balcony attached to the room. There is a seperate hostel for girls and a seperate AC hostel with a higher price. Mess is mesmerizing, the quality, the cleanliness, etc. Everything that one expects is presented, unlike other colleges messes. The quality of food is good and the taste is also okay. The registration process is also not much difficult but an Anti-ragging stamp signed by your parents is required at the time of room allotment.
