Remarks

Overall, the entire college life was a great experience. The college keeps getting better each year with the introduction of new facilities.

Entrance Preview

I got admitted into the college through the MHT-CET exam. The cut off for mechanical field was 140/200 for the year 2011-12. Location, proximity to my residence made me choose this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course is as per the guidelines of the University of Mumbai. The first year being common for all the Engineering branches. The subjects differ starting from the second year of college where the students are taught specialization subjects for each stream.

Internships Opportunities

No. The college does not provide intern-ships. However, students can carry out intern-ships in their areas of interest during the vacations i.e. after the end of the semesters.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements for streams like Computers and IT are good. More than 70% students got placed from these streams. However for mechanical the placements are not that great. Very few students from mechanical stream got placed. Hopefully the placements committee will improve the situation for the students currently studying.

College Events

5

The college celebrates two main events throughout the year. The technical fest ORION is celebrated during the month of September. Students from various colleges participate in technical events throughout this 3 day fest. The cultural fest ZEAL is celebrated in the month of March where various cultural events are celebrated.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Total Fees - INR 393708 (For 4 year course) which is about 1 lakh per year. The fee is expensive if you compare the facilities provided. The fee is equally divided throughout the 4 years and the students are expected to pay the fees annually before the start of the odd semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college does not provide load facility. However, Railway and Bus concessions can be availed through the college.

Campus Life

3.5

Each department has committees which carry out various technical extra curricular activities throughout the year. Also, the college has a students council which is responsible for the cultural festivals in the college. Interdepartmental sports competitions are carried out during the month of January. Various outdoor sports such as cricket (both overarm and box), Football, Badminton etc. as well as indoor sports like carrom, chess, Table tennis are organized. Interdepartmental debate competition also takes place once a year.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

There is no hostel facility provided by the college. The average rent is the area is about 4000-5000 per month depending on the number of students. The infrastructure has been greatly improved over the past 3-4 years. New equipment for laboratory and classrooms is constantly being added. Decent ground and campus. A good canteen. Wifi wasn't available during our time. The food served in the canteen is good and not overpriced.

Alumni/Alumna

There are different Facebook groups through which you can interact with the past students. Seniors are helpful and can be approached in case of any queries or concerns.

Exam Structure

The entire engineering course follows a semester pattern so there are 2 exams per year. The course runs for 4 years. Each subject has marks for theory and practical depending on the subject. Also, during a semester the student is expected to maintain a file containing all the assignments and practicals. On an average during the entire course the day comprised of 4 hours of lectures and 2 hours of practicals.

Admission

The admission for the college was through the CAP rounds as per the University of Mumbai. The entire process takes place during the months of June-August after the results are declared. The entire process is online and students are allotted admissions based on their preferences in the online form.

Faculty

4

The faculty for the mechanical are average. Mostly involved with teaching from reference books. The entire mechanical department had about 15-20 professors. Department conducted industry visits if required for the particular subject. Overall the teaching was not great but nobody in engineering relys on the teachers.
