Student experience in GRIET

I chose GRIET college because of following reasons:Reputation, Locality of college(Inside the city), Affordable, Good career opportunities, Course curriculum, Autonomous under Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad

Course curriculum is a little rigid(Not flexible), meaning students wont get to choose elective subjects. Department will directly enrol to some standard corses based on faculty availability.Faculty, especially in ECE department is very renowned. We have some excellent Professors working in fields like Digital Signal Processing and AI & ML. Very supportive staff except a few.Lab infrastructure is excellent in our college. We have everything available in our labs. Micro controllers, licensed softwares: Matlab, Cadence, Xilinx etc. We don't anyone to approve to use the. Just talk to the lab in-charge ad make sue of them.Teaching methods are quite basic (Black board and Presentations when required).

Placement cell in our college will try its best to contact companies and get internship opportunities for students. I have done my internship in last semester. I got the offer from a company which came to our college for looking for bright students.I would say, opportunities will be coming from as early as 6th semester, students need to be ready for them.

Placements are decent enough. Almost 80% of students will get placed in MNC's. Few students have even got offers from big tech companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe etc..Majority of students will get placed in companies like TCS, Capgemini etc.. while few get very good placements with fancy a CTC.

When i was studying, I have paid around 75000 per year and now it is around 100000 per year. Government scholarships and reimbursement schemes are available(Nothing offered by the college).

Life in campus is very restricted. There are bunch of rules on outfits that students are supposed to wear (Everyone hates this).Usage of mobile phones is strictly prohibited. If you get caught you will be charged. (Hope this changes soon).Separate canteen for males and females(No comments on this).We have multiple clubs in our college like IEEE, IETE, REUDO etc.. and they are very active.Multiple technical events through out the year will be taking place. Major one being "Pragnya"Pulse is our annual cultural fest(Most awaited days of the college).We even have an entrepreneur centre where we can incubate our ideas(I personally have tried it but didn't follow up with that though).
