Remarks

Students are admitted into the undergraduate program in NITW through JEE Mains. Counseling is followed as per josaa guidelines during which students can select their college based on their rank and interest. Students can submit the required documents in the nearest josaa and pay the fee and submit originals in the college at the time of admission

Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose Biotechnology as I am interested to learn the functions of biology at micro level. Faculty in NITW are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They hold Ph.D from reputed institutes. There are approximately 1:30 faculty ratio. Students are expected to learn beyond the book and exams are application based. Two minors are conducted with a mid and end exam for each semester

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Top MNCs such as Microsoft, Deshaw, Morgan Stanley, Amazon, Mastercard, Fractal Analytics, Mondelez, ITC , Aditya Birla Group and many more companies visited the campus to recruit interns. Average stipend is 30000 for this year. Software Engineer roles and Engineering trainee roles are offered for interns

Placement Experience

5

From 7 th semester students are eligible to participate in campus placement. NITW has a dedicated placement team to manage companies and placements. Lots of MNCs like Microsoft, amazon, BNY, Mastercard, Citibank, Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo, Bosch, JK Tyres, Tata steels and other 200 companies visited the campus. Highest CTC is 52 LPA while average Package ranges from 13-15 LPA. Students were offered Software Engineer, Management Trainee, data analyst, consultant, Graduate Engineer traineee roles. 80 percent of total students are placed. I have recieved offer letter from fractal analytics

Fees and Financial Aid

NITW provides scholarships for both merit and low-income background students. There are scholarships available for students with total income less than 1 Lakh and less than 5 lakhs in second case 2/3 rd of fee is remitted while for less than 1 Lakh full fee is reimbursed.I got placed in Fractal Analytics with 10.5 LPA through campus placement

Campus Life

5

NITW conducts two fests, Technozion, a technical fest conducted during the month of October, and Spring spree a cultural fest conducted during the month of March. There are many active clubs on campus such as Literary club, News and magazine club, dance club, music club, quiz club, Nature club, etc. Wsdc portal is developed and maintained by students which are used to publish results and registration. NITW has a huge library with both offline and online resources. The campus has a physical education department, football court, volleyball and basketball court, large stadium for cricket and other sports. Classrooms are properly ventilated with a projector installed

Hostel Facilities

4

A hostel facility is provided to every student. Hostels are comparatively better with hygiene. Rooms and mess are quite affordable. Mess food includes a variety of food with proper quality. None of the students adopt PG.

Other Applied Colleges

National Institute of Technology Tiruchirapalli | Civil Engineering

NITW is better choice within my rank limit

Course Curriculum Overview:

I like that the course doesn't feel outdated. Along with the regular subjects we spend a lot of time on coding, projects, and problem solving so it feels connected to what companies actually expect. As a second year student i already feel like i am building skills that i will be able to use during internships and placements and not just preparing for semester exams

Placement Experience:

No batch has graduated yet so there's no record of placement data yet. But more than 200 students got internships. Also the unique point of NIAT is students gets internships from their 1st year itself. NIAT has connection in the industry also its unique teaching style, this allows 1st year students to get internships. Although there is no pass out batch yet, still many people got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My college course curriculum is outdated .As im studying in computer science and engineering,i wpuld love to study about technological aspects and grow as a software engineering but in the course curriculam they teach my about mechanical workshops,There were no practical experience it jsut understanding the concept with theoritical part . i would love lo code but my college wastes entire time by helping with electricals, meachanical basics. i dont think is it really necessary for me understand in all the feilds they think that student should perform in all the fields as im in computer science and engineering student ,They should teach me more about coding and computer ,how it industries works and how these technology enhacning ,the arenot even explore about all these sectos they only teaching me about fundametals of all the subjects which is never useful for my studies . as i am in final year of btech i thought learning and deepdiving into computerscience and engineering subjects is more greater than learning all sector fundamentals,The area they need to improve is removing some of the oudated syllabus from their ciricullum and enhcing with the pratical experience not to teach only theoritical part. they have to teach all the areas with realtime examples. The timings of exams is very good .we do have 2 mid exams and one semester final exams for each sem and the subjects feels meduim level difficulty

Placement Experience:

The placements are comparatively more in this college, as there is more industry exposure. Students are eligible for placements from around 3-2 (3rd yr-II sem) to 4-2 (4th yr- II sem). Companies like Amazon, Cognizant, NCR often visit the campus. The highest package offered last year was 1.2 cr (International offer). Around 90% students who were eligible got placement. My plan is to get a decent package after the degree.

Students become eligible for campus placements after their 6th semester. The companies start visiting in 7th and 8th semesters. The companies are not much good and are mostly service based. So the placement statistics are also not much good. The highest placement last year was 10 lpa and the median placement was around 4.1 lpa. The placements were starting from 2.5 lpa. The better option for students is to apply for off-campus placements or start preparing for competitive exams
