Remarks

To get admission in B.A course in A.M.U, one has to crack the university entrance test and then counseling is done. Subjects in B.A are given on the basis of ranks secured in the entrance. After that admission formalities are done with much ease.

Course Curriculum Overview

English department of A.M.U is one of the prestigious and oldest departments of A.M.U. The department has experienced and qualified teachers. There are 45 seats for girls and 45 for boys in English department. B.A course consists of six semester. There 3 sessionals and 1 final semester in each semester. English Department of A.M.U is very punctual in taking classes and exams at time. The course require real efforts to get passed.

Placement Experience

Final year students are eligible for campus placement. However the campus placement doesn't prove very helpful. Few people get placement from B.A courses. Students of B.Com and B.Sc are more likely to get placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee of A.M.U is very reasonable. In B.A course , the fee for first year is approximately 10000 and 6000 for second and third year respectively. There are various scholarships given to students on different merit basis.

Campus Life

Cultural activities and fests are regular part of A.M.U student life. Different activities and functions are organised in an year. There are various clubs for students like literary club, music club, drama club etc. Classrooms are well equipped with all basic amenities.

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility is very cheap at A.M.U. An amount of 1200 is paid as the dinning fee for a month(it also include laundary fee). The hostel has basic amenities like wifi facility, canteen, library, common room, stationary shop, general store, garden, auditorium, computer lab, gym and playing ground. There's a dispensary in the hostel for first aid, there's an ambulance available 24×7. Hostels in AMU are alloted at the time of admission. Every single person gets the hostel. There's no lack of rooms and space in A.M.U

AMU and its life

Placement Experience:

AMU does provide placements, and their highest package is 50 lakhs, while their average package is approximately 5 lakhs. But the placement cell needs to be developed properly to give better placements for the students.

A Glimpse of Life in Aligarh Muslim University

I chose this college mainly because of the less fees structure and the greenary campus , a good place to study.Moreover, I'm preparing for govt exams also, so the time needed during M.tech. is enough to focus on exams too. Also, I don't want any gap between the study and job as we have to justify later during interview (the year gaps , if any). Moreover , lot of opportunities are also possible in foreign countries too , and we are also eligible for Assistant professor post (if any).
