I had also taken JEE mains in which I scored 98 which wasn't good enough to qualify in general merit. Except that I had written viteee. Since VIT is the the best private college I chose it.
Course Curriculum Overview
The courses in this college are really good. We should chose the course of our interest and the college would provide all possible platforms for research and development in the subject of our interest. The PhD students in our college are privileged to use the lab equipments too for further research on their subject.
Internships Opportunities
Yes, the college does provide internships but it is the choice of the student to take the internship provided by the university or can take one on their own. I'm still a first year student so I do not have any experience in this.
Placement Experience
This university is known for its 100% placement record every year. The packages vary from 30 lakhs to 3 lakhs. A few students get placed in super dream offers which include many good companies and a few in dream and mass recruitment. TCS has hired a lot of people from many branches.
Fees and Financial Aid
Since I'm a first year I don't know much about scholarships and loans. Though I've heard many seniors tell that the university provides scholarships for 4th year students if they are extremely good.
Campus Life
Campus life is really good. There are people from every part of India. There are quite less girls when compared to the guys. The college is very strict on this rules and regulations. If not obeyed, we could be fined a hefty amount. There a number of extracurricular activities which keep taking place especially in the field of sports, robotics etc.
Alumni/Alumna
I don't know many of the alumni here. As far as I know many have got scholarship and have gone abroad for further studies. Some seniors just take the placements and work after this.
Exam Structure
We basically have 3 exams per semester. First of it is CAT1 which is a closed book test after 2 months from the beginning of the semester, second is CAT2 which is an open book test, third comes the Final Assessment Test(FAT) which contains the portions of the entire semester.
Admission
We are first supposed to write the VIT engineering entrance exam. After that, the counselling takes place in Chennai and Vellore. We are supposed to choose the subject we want according to our rank. These take place according to our VITEEE rank throughout the country.
Faculty
The faculties of our college are highly qualified. I haven't actually met a lot of them because I'm still a first year student and have just completed my first semester of the first year. As far as I've come across many of the faculties are high degree holders.
