Remarks

I applied and studied at City College (Kolkata) I didn't avail myself of any quota. For admission in my college, it requires good marks in the HS exam and I had good marks in HS. In my time there were 78 percent cut-off marks in 12th. I was 18 years old then. The admission process was very straight forward it was just simple teachers admit us with our marks basis and I got the chance to enter my college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I have chosen this particular course because I love mathematics and my dream was to study mathematics in our college, I don't know the exact figure of faculty but I think it was likely 75-100 faculty and students 2000+. The teachers are very educated caring they are like our parents. We all love them. They are our idols. They always help us with study material and much more.

Placement Experience

4

At the end of all semesters, the students can eligible for placement. It is a degree course college so here we are not offered any job or something. But in the end, the students can go for higher studies like a master's degree or they can prepare for competitive exams. My planning is to prepare for competitive exams and I already started that process.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure in my college is minimal. In three years of my course, it only charges around 7000 just. But the charge is not the whole at a time but you have to give them in every semester. There is no scholarship offered by my college.

Campus Life

4

Yes in my college we all enjoy fest on Durga puja in October, in our college, there is a big Library and it is filled with knowledgeable books and there are many national and international journals. The classrooms are big and clean. There we play sports on our college campus and They organize some sports events sometimes.

In our college, the professer are very strict about our course curriculum. Here every topic, every practical is handled with care. Any difficult is clear by the professor without any delay. Before Calcutta University exam , our college organises a mock test and prepare us well for the CU examination.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility depends on the companies requirements. Usually in the final year you start preparing for interviews. Our placement cell was very active and it tried its best. TCS, Berger, PWC etc etc visited our campus. The packages are not known to me very surely, so would avoid quoting one, but take ballpark around 5lacs, which is pretty impressive considering the job market for non-engineering freshers. Majority of the students are inclined towards higher studies and government jobs, and the cell arranges for their preparation as well, and quite reputed ones. RKM is known to have a strong history of students getting top government jobs. Those who wished to have job, not all, but many have got offers. Although still I would say there is room for improvement.

Course Curriculum Overview:

First of all University of Calcutta is so unpredictable. Here we heared that a sem goes for 6 months. But really speaking you won't get that much time. Maximum of 4 months you'll get, some time less. The syllabus is vast. You've to study well to get passed. And the question standard is between moderate to hard level. Marks getting is not that much easy in University of Calcutta. But if you want to choose Physics you'll get opportunity to get the engeneering course in CU rather than your masters. And the campusing here in CU for engeneering courses ar very good also.
