TDB College is a very good college

I got selected in some of the most popular colleges like the Asansol BB College and Burdwan Raj College but due to my financial situation I was unable to take admission in those colleges. Also they were situated far away from my hometown. The eligibility criteria for mathematics honors course is 60% aggregate in 10th and 12th from any of the national or state boards. Also note that subjects like business mathematics of other boards and BEBM of West Bengal Board are not allowed. The admission rules and regulations are set by Kazi Nazrul University. Online application forms for admission to the 1st Year Semester-1 of the three-year Ba/Bsc(Honors and major) courses for the corresponding sessions are available both offline and online. Students can apply for more than one honors or major subject by filling up separate forms. Only those students are eligible for admission whose names got selected in the merit list.

I have chosen this course because students can get a good exposure after completing Bsc in Mathematics. You can easily take admission in Btech 2nd year, can do preparation for the SSC exams, can take admission in Mtech, and also can be placed as a Mathematics faculty in a renowned institution. The student to faculty ratio of our mathematics department is quite decent i.e, 1:23 The faculty members of our college are well educated and involved in ongoing research ventures. IIT and NIT graduates make up the entire faculty. They are very helpful when students are facing problems. The course curriculum is revised and up to date, and they teach it very well.

There are a lot of internships one can do with BSc Mathematics. Students can go into research fields with a lot of companies looking for short-term employees in that field. This can also lead to one getting a job in the company at a later time. Other than that, one can go in fields like data science,stock exchange, and content writing internships which are provided by many companies.

Our college has a goal to provide employment opportunities to every willing student on completion of his/her academic curriculum and they are eligible for campus placements from their final semester. The companies which visit our college for recruitment are CTS, Satyam Computers, Cognizant, Wipro ,Accenture, IBM and Ranbaxy. The highest package offered is 7 lakhs per annum and the lowest package is 3.47 lakhs per annum. Around 72% of students got placement in the year 2019-20 and there is a significant increase of 7% as compared to the placement in 2018-19 which was 65%

The university has ordered each and every college affiliated with it, not to increase their fees at any cost as many students might face serious financial problems due to it. So the fees are kept very low and easily payable by the students. The college grants free concessions to needy and outstanding students. The continuance of concession in the fee depends on good behavior, regular attendance of the student, and satisfactory progress in studies. An application for the concession should be made on the prescribed form available from the college office.

The central library of our college is the hub of a wheel whose spokes will reach into the different departments of the college. The college library has a rich collection of more than 75000 volumes on different disciplines in the field of science, humanities and social sciences to equip the students with a wide range of resources. The college boasts a large playground that facilitates organizing inter-departmental, state, and national level cricket tournaments every year. The playground is also utilized for cricket coaching camp for school students in the weekends. A seperate cricket pitch is developed for the purpose along with badminton, volleyball, basketball courts that are already present on the campus. Our college has a special organization known as the 'students union'. It encourages student's participation in various curricular and co curricular activities.The students union is an active organisation that work for the welfare of students and infrastructural improvements.

The hostel offers Ac and Non Ac share bed options, the rooms are equipped with ergonomically designed furniture which includes chair, study table, study lamps ,book shelves and cupboard. There are also first aid centers, pharmacy, photocopy service, gymnasium, sports amenities available to the students. Healthy, wholesome food and a variety of dining options are available to the students. Students have access to the great diversity of tastes and cultures and multi cuisine catering services that serves vegeterian, non vegetarian, Indian and international foods.
