Msc biochemistry, DIBNS Dehradun

The admission process was just simple. I just contacted one of the faculty members through the online website. The contact numbers are given on the college website. After that, I choose my preferred course ie MSc biochemistry and asked about the fee structure and placements. Although every information is given on the college website. Then I was provided with a college prospectus where I got to know about the features of college and its achievements. You have to pay the registration fee of 15000 but I was lucky enough that I was waived from admission fee as my previous percentage was good enough and also the course fee is 74000 per year but I got a concession for being a meritorious student in my bachelor's degree so I was left with only 50000 per year ie 25000 per sem. Apart from that minimum marks required to get admission to a masters course is 60%. Also, there is some extra fee that you have to pay while joining college including examination fee and mandatory laboratory fee.

My course is MSc biochemistry. I studied biotechnology in my bachelors. Faculty men are very good in the biochemistry department also the students in this department are limited so that the teachers are more involved in every student. All the teachers are highly educated I didn’t find any faculty members whose qualifications are less than PhD and almost every teacher is not qualified. In each semester there are internal exams that are held timely and you have to submit some assignments and practical works.

There is no such internship provided for MSC biochemistry. You have to look it for yourself and go for it. You can search on the Internet or you can contact your faculty members or hod for any internship available so that they can help you in providing any Contact or something that might help you.

In This college, there is a placement cell to provide pavement to students. Although not every student gets placed some of them get placements. some students go for their higher studies and for that they provide coaching for NET. There are so many labs and companies in which you can apply for a job after graduating from your MSc in biochemistry.

The fee for the MSc biochemistry is 74000 per year ie 37000 per sem. Apart from that, there are some extra fees that you have to pay ie a laboratory fee of 5000 and a security fee of 2500 at the time of admission, admission fee which is 15000. The examination fee is 2100 also there is some fee for university registration which is 1400. The fee is nominal but there are some colleges which offer the same course with low price and some with much higher fee structure. As is a private college so I don’t find any scholarships available here but if you can avail of some sort of fee concession if you have good grades in your previous studies. There is a placement cell where you got to know about jobs and placements.

Social life is average as it is not that much-hyped. If you are looking for some party school you definitely are at the wrong place. Here you will feel like more of a secondary school kid with uniform and time boundaries. Yeary fests are arranged where you can enjoy your college days. Also, the sports facilities are good enough and there are several groups that you can join that is NCC, Cultural groups, dolphin student welfare council (dswc). You can even get many YouTubers from dolphin college.

The hostel is very safe for girls. The hostel is very nice for the MSc department but the bachelor building is quite suffocating and there is no ventilation. You will feel like more in a prison. Also, the food is good but sometimes there are problems with the food. You will get 4 time meals ie breakfast, lunch, evening snacks, dinner. Also, the bus faculty is provided and there is laundry every two days a week. You are not allowed to wash your clothes on your own in the hostel. For taking a hostel you have to mention in your admission form that you want to avail hostel facilities.
