My college experience

So this college admits students who have filled JAC counselling form. The admission to this college is done from Chandigarh. In just 4 colleges participate i.e CCET, UIET Chandigarh, SSB chemical and UIET Hoshiarpur/SSGRC. All these are govt colleges.

I chose this course because my father wanted me to grow in life exponentially in the field of education. So one of these is to opt to engineer. The faculty in this college is not the best but above average most of them are phd holders/IIT graduated. In this college, we have 2 mid semesters and 2 end sem exams. The end sem exams are common for all students of Panjab University in Hoshiarpur and Chandigarh opting for BTech. The level of exams are moderate and one can easily secure good CGPA who is regular in studies i.e 3-4 hour daily.

Companies here come here are mostly mass recruiters like Infosys, TCS etc and also one can sit in the placement drive of Panjab University Chandigarh but their first preference is given to students in Chandigarh.

From the 5th semester, students are eligible for campus internships or placements. The package offered here is not very much average is around 4-5 lacs pm amd max is 12 lacs. My plans after my degree are to secure good marks in gate exams and go for govt job or first is to secure one job and then prepare for the gate exam.

As this is a government college so naturally fees is less as compared to the private college of the same race. The college fees decrease with the passing of exams. The college apart from college fees takes examination fees twice a year of 2572. And college gives extra benefits to students from SC or ST caste and EWS quota is also available.

Annual fests are held jointly by law and engineering students. There is an amole of books present in the library. There is no extra amenity in class except board fans amd benches. The classroom is spacious as comapred with a ratio of students. Sports here played are common sports like cricket, football, basketball, badminton and has a ground where athletic sports can be done. The college organises yearly sports fests and also participate in sports activities held at Panjab University Chandigarh. There are technical, singing, acting, dancing and placement cell groups/clubs in college.

The government hostel has all basic amenities like 2 beds one fame one balcony which is comfortable for 2 students. They have a common bathroom on each floor whose fee is 10,000 for 6 months and for new students there is a private hostel named divine home which is not divine at all rooms in are alloted to 2 students with attach bathroom one pro over govt hostel. Meals of the day are good/ can be eaten but for snacks, there is not much variety i.e 10-15 items that too not very speacial they include samosa, patty pastery, pasta etc. Govt hostel is given to students second year onwards according to CGPA or first come first serve. Ya students can also opt for pg which are really good and spacious.
