Review of my college

I have not applied for any other college as after getting my marks and rank in JEE Advanced I looked at previous years trend and saw that this is the best possible branch and college that I could get. I had taken admission through the OBC quota with my OBC rank as 3250. Starting rank for admission for the course B.Tech in Petroleum Engineering was close to 8000 (CRL rank). Pwd and students with colour vision were not allowed to take admission in the Petro branch. The counselling process is very smooth as it is conducted by JOSSA.

This was the best possible branch that was I getting with my rank and our college is among top 10 IITs and it has left behind various Top IITs in many fields. So, there was not any point to look back. The strength of batch is of 90 students and girls to the boy's ratio is about 1:9. The faculty is also very highly qualified. All faculty member have their PhD degree and each of them has atleast one research paper. The exams and other academic activities are always done on time and rules are strict regarding academics.

There will many big companies like Amazon, Adobe, Goldman Sachs, Exxon Mobill will come for internship. More than half of the batch get an opportunity for an internship. If you have done some very good project then you can also get an opportunity of internship in your second year and you have descent skills of any programme then also it will be very easy. And your GPA also play an important role in your internship.

The highest package was given by Bloomberg London of 90 lakhs to 2 students and 2nd highest package was offered by Google who gave a package of 56 lakhs to 7 students. The minimum package was 9 lakhs. Many students also opt for higher studies and you will get plenty of opportunities if you will be honest with yourself. The placement percentage is expected to reach more than 90 for the academic year 2020-21.

The semester fee is 120700 and the hostel plus mess fee is 25200. And there is no problem in taking admission in the college if you have any financial problem because you will have plenty of opportunities to avail the of various type of scholarship. A tuition fee waiver is given to students with poor financial background. Students with family income less than 1 lakh and those between 1 - 5 lakhs are given 100 and 66 a waiver on tuition fee respectively. Students can also get their pocket money as there are many coaching centres near the campus where you can easily earn 400-500 per hour by sharing your knowledge.

I have no words to explain the beauty and facilities you will be avail at Library. It is Asia's 2nd-largest library and you can get each and everything of your needs in the library. The classrooms are well furnished. There are various technical and cultural clubs in our college and every year various type of sports competition are also organised like an annual sports fest or inter IIT and many more things. In short, I can say that you will never feel bored in college. I will give you a suggestion to join atleast one cultural club. This memory will last lifelong with you.

Every student who wants to take a hostel facility can easily avail there are 10 hostels only for boys. And some new hostels are also are in construction. Maybe one thing that you may not like is that you will not get any privacy as in each room there will be 2 students. 1st-year boys students (B.Tech) get jasper and girls get rosaline or ruby. Mess food is also very hygienic. I will not say that you will get food like your house but you can eat that you will not dislike that. The registration process for hostel affordability is very easy you can apply for a hostel during admission to college.
