Management professional course from JMI

I applied to Delhi University and at JAMIA MILLIA ISLAMIA University and I opted for JMI because Delhi university doesn't offer a wide spectrum as the JMI University offers for its MBA program. Here we have the option for specialisation not only in finance, marketing and HR but also for international business and entrepreneurship & family business. No, I didn't avail any quota for admission. I took admission under the general category, but the quota is available for women, j&k, foreign and OBC students. The admission criteria are to clear the entrance exam followed by a GD and a PI. The minimum eligibility to apply is to have 55% marks in graduation in any field. And there is no minimum age to apply we have students of different age groups in my class. The admission process was also very easy you have to bring all your documents they verify it on the spot and give you a slip to pay your fees within a couple of days time limit and submit the fees slip and your admission is complete

I chose MBA in international business because it has great promise and we get to learn on an international spectrum, cases from foreign companies are taught the very same in Harvard University and other top universities. There are several faculties with very high qualifications many permanent senior professors some additional new professor under the senior ones they all have a great style of teaching even the visiting faculty members are good too. They give us a great idea of how to solve problems in the real world they teach us what is necessary not only what is in the textbook. Term exams happen every 5-6 months and they are not too hard if you study well and pay attention in the class, some subjects are quite difficult but with some practice and wilful study, they can be cleared as well.

Several companies offered internship opportunities to us namely outlook, Infosys and others the stipend was also good . They offered internship under several profiles such as finance interns , HR interns , marketing team intern, etc Projects were recruitment based , finance analysis role.

From the 4th semester the students become eligible for campus placements students apply to them as per their requirement criteria some of the companies which offered jobs were: better, byju's etc they offered multiple positions at very good packages. Around 70-80% of students get placed from the campus itself. My plans after getting the degree are to work for some years then start my own business.

Considering the fees charged for MBA program in other universities our university fees are nominal only anyone can pay it if they plan for MBA. The cost of the study is also minimal here since it's a central university the price is not too high. I didn't apply for any scholarships but there are several available for the students who qualify for them.

Life at the campus is very happening students from various courses gather and meet everyone, the library is full of books every department has its own library and a central library which is very big and has books of different authors all open to read for everyone. Several clubs organise activities and events related to their main core alliances. I'm also a part of the synopsis which is the finance club of the management department of the JMI other clubs are synapse, ecumenical etc all these are run by students.

Yes, I faced a GD and an interview after the written test., The topics of GD were based on current scenarios and topics, for example, the role of women in companies, how will you deal with a certain situation when you are a manager etc. After passing a written entrance exam we get shortlisted for a GD and an interview then a list with cut-off marks are given those who are above the cut-off gets admission. I prepared through books and other sources.
