Remarks
Campus is beautiful. Wish we had a canteen which served better food. Management was friendly and supportive. I personally admire our Principal as he always supports the spirit of every occasion may it be blood donation camp or sports day or cultural fests. I would recommend the staff to encourage more technical activities and assignments to help us develop interest towards our field.
Entrance Preview
I got through CET. My rank was 12820. I first like the building of AMC. Then I visited the college and spoke to some of the faculties and I liked the overall environment of the college. So in my CET counseling I chose AMC with ISE branch.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course structure was pretty good and syllabus used to be well paced and completed within time. Focus on research - to be honest very few colleges focus on research at BE level. But nevertheless we had fun doing our final year project where we actually got to implement what we learnt so far. We also seminars and presentations which boosted our confidence about the subject.
Internships Opportunities
In the final year some of us had applied for internships. However, not compulsory. There were companies which conducted aptitude test to select people for internship. There was no stipend.
Placement Experience
I would say between average and good. Many of us got placed from campus interviews including me. The rest eventually got placed. The placement officer provided us with information about all the pool campus drives in town. So from there end there was constant support.
College Events
Lot of events. We had 7 departments when we were there and each department conducted there own fest and we had our college fest as well called 'Colosseum'. Some were inter college while the rest were intra college fests. It catered to our technical thirst as well as our cultural outburst. Personally I have anchored for 3 year and had a great time organizing fests.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Very reasonable. Since I was from CET I had to pay 42-43 thousand a year only. Of course those who took admission through ComedK paid around 1.4L per year. But it is almost same for all colleges under CET and COMEDK. Management Quota was also something like Comedk fees and they were provided with laptops.
Fees and Financial Aid
For economical challenged people there was some funds allotted from the Paramahamsa Trust. Bank loans were easily available.
Campus Life
We had a lovely time with our friends. Although if we had a canteen with better food we would have loved it more. We had a cricket ground in collaboration with KSCA but sadly I didn't play much of cricket on it. Being in IS the gender ratio was pretty good. In our class it was close to 4:7 ratio in favour of boys. There were people of 17 different states in India and an International student as well. And strictly our college had a ragging-free campus. We had a very cordial relationship with our seniors and our juniors. Economic standard of the students, I would say was mixed. Largely comprising upper middle class people. Not much politics was played among the people. The atmosphere was very friendly and amicable. Sadly there were no technical or cultural groups in our college which was a big miss in my opinion. Cultural events were plenty and too many in the even semester that it gets boring towards the end.
Hostel Facilities
I was a day scholar so I can't tell you much about the hostel facility. Hostel facility was ok and the food was also not bad. That's what I have heard. Initially they had some water problems and power problems but eventually it was solved. But the WiFi was pretty poor.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni meet is conducted every year and we get to meet our seniors and juniors but sadly the turnout is very less. We should form a more productive alumni group and do something really nice like a technology support group etc. Alumni can be made better use of I believe.
Exam Structure
It was absolutely chilled out. 3 days of internal exams for the first 3 months and then 1 month would go in lab internals, study holidays and external exams. So hectic days are only couple of days before the exam. Labs were conducted regularly. Every week we had 2 or 3 lab classes and we were divided into batches of 20 so that individual attention can be given. The lab facility was ok. No complaints.
Admission
I got through CET. I had researched about the institute beforehand from one of my friend who was studying there and also required personally at the institute and chose AMC without any second thoughts. The very next morning I got my DD done and went to college to finish my admission procedure.
Faculty
I feel the faculty were very nice and friendly but strict when it is comes to discipline. They gave us all the support we needed. The teaching standards were good. Of course some teachers were really awesome while some were average like in every college.
