Remarks

I only applied for JEE and BITSAT. I ended up joining BITS because that was the best choice at that time. For getting admission in BITS, you are required to take the BITSAT. There is also a Minimum Board Percentage criteria that students taking the test should fulfill. There is no reservation in BITS, unlike JEE. This makes it one of the fairest College Entrance tests in India. BITSAT is an online computer-based test. Students are allotted centers that the BITS faculty itself invigilate. The score is displayed on the test screen as soon as the test is over. If there is any discrepancy in the question, then that is intimated later on the portal. After the exam, the student has to fill a priority order list after which he is allotted his branch and campus.

I am pursuing the dual degree program in BITS with MSc Physics as my first degree and EEE as my second degree. I chose physics by choice, even though I was getting MSc Maths because of my genuine interest in the subject since my school days, positive reviews on the forums, and suggestions from the seniors. The faculty-student ratio in Physics Department is about 1:4 (80 students and about 20-25 profs). In EEE, it's a bit low. The faculty is very good and semester exams are conducted very properly, with moderately difficult questions in most of the courses.

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 280000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees for 2019 admitted student (my batch) was around 195000 per semester. Every year it gets hiked by 0-15% of the previous year. There are scholarships (Merit and Merit-Cum-Need Scholarships) that can reduce your fees drastically if you are performing well.

Campus Life

We have Oasis, which is our cultural fest. It is usually conducted in the month of October. It is undoubtedly the best part of the year for any BITSian. APOGEE is our annual technical fest. Renowned personalities in academia usually come to deliver talks. Budding researchers from pan India come to demonstrate their research. Events by various Assocs and Clubs.BOSM is our annual sports fest. ABout 30 sports activities are organized within a span of 4-5 days. There are various cultural events too.

In our college the students are elgible to sit in campus placement from third year , there comes a lot of companies in our college which comes here for placement drive and some for providing internship .Some of the companies that comes in our college are L&T, Deloitte , Capegemini, Reliance , TCS , TCE, Wipro, Infosys, miniorange, Berger paints ,Amazon etc . The highest package from this college is of 44 LPA which was from CSE branch and given by Amazon and the average package ranges around 6.5 LPA for almost every branch . Every year almost 80 percent of students get placed around here and some of them leaves placement for further studies and also some took admission in many premier institutes for getting higher education.

I selected this college over other colleges due to its legacy, exposure and opportunities. The freedom to traverse through multiple domains and it's flexible academics.
