JNU through fresher's eye

Jawaharlal Nehru University is one of the topmost universities in India which has been doing great in master education plus quality education with practical experience. And being a Delhite it is the best university to be in good campus centre of the city with a different and diverse crowd , a lot is learnt .Its a not a university with only political tantrums and protests , they are just a part but does not represent whole of the environment there. You can find all the student groups and individuals who are not only politically aware about the Indian politics and that of world but they are aware in all perspects of life.admission process in JNU is through entrance examination held every year around May and application process for which starts from end of March.

The course I chose is an interdisciplinary course making me able to understand much more than sticking to single subject of interest. All the faculties are well qualified and have prominent work in different researches . Every teacher there has his own way of teaching which doesnt make the study pattern monotonous and thus making it interesting. In my department there are 4 semesters and in each semester we give exams twice- mid sem and end sem . Exam papers are of moderate difficulty level , yet designed in such a way that you need to invest your intellect and presence of mind to answer the questions aptly. Scoring good marks isnt difficult if u have been attentive in class lectures.

after completion of my degree i would apply for phd not job but for those who apply for job secure a salary of about 30,000-40,000 in begining after completion of the course. For other humanity courses placements are there through college placement cells.

Fee structure is very minimal , Two years fee for my course is 1400 rupees. Similar is the hostel charges very minimal and affordable. Still, university provides MCM ( merit cum means )scolarships for children having low income background , which provides them some fixed amount of money monthly.

Campus life is amazing, good natural ambience diversified crowd , different cultural background and all lively discussions everywhere. Infrastructure is pretty cool but not hampering the natural habita much , it is all covered in lush green canaopies all over . Peacocks and black bucks are commonly seen and the Dhabas within the campus are famous for their particular delights . a lot of clubs , like mountaineering, trekking, wildlife, photography, political, dance and etc are there .University holds a 5 story library with departmental separqation of the books and proper reading space for students.

No admission was solely based on the merit list after entrance examination. All courses admission takes place through entrance examination protocol , after which a merit list id been produced category wise through which admission is procured.
