Remarks

In my time it was a renowned college of south India with good percentage of Placements and very attractive Infrastructure. Some bad aspect which I found after joining the college was the quality of faculties was not good and the college use to take lot of exams. The admission process was very simple. SRM conducts its own test and according to rank you are called for counselling to select your prefferef branch, if available. My counselling date was 14th May 2016 and usually the counselling happens in May only.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

I wanted to do Engineering so I chose B.Tech. I was not good in coding and in SRM it was said that CSE and ECE are the best branches so I chose ECE. Faculty: Student ratio was 1:40. Faculties were well qualified most of them were post graduate some also did their PG from foreign universities. Teaching method was very poor, except 4-5 faculties in my branch everyone just use to fill boards. The exams happen on time around every month their use to happen one exam. They take 3 unit tests and end semester exams. It was not very difficult to pass these exams as the questions and syllabus was fixed.

Placement Experience

4

Placement is good quantity wise but not in quality wise i.e. almost 96% students get placed in the college but most of them are taken by the mass recruiters which usually offer 3-4 lakh per annum. Placement starts from 7th semester and a student can have limited number of offers. The companies are divided into four categories mass, core, dream and super deam. More than 500 companies visit every year such as Microsoft, Byjus, Zs, Infocepts, TCS, Wipro, IBM, Capgemini, Infosys, KPIT, Siemens, L&T and many more. The average package is 3.5 lpa and highest package is 30 lpa. After getting my degree I joined an automotive company to start my career.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Every year they use to increase fees by 15000/year on an average. Student of 2015 use to give 200000/year, we use to give 215000/year, and student of 2017 use to give 235000/year. Talking about scholarship top 10 students in a branch were given some cashback every year. Then there were sports scholarship, minority scholarship, and people having low income also use to get scholarships.

Campus Life

4.5

There is one annual fest 'MILAN' which happens in march every year and one tech fest 'AARUSH' which happens in september every year. The Campus has a very good 3 storey fully air conditioned Library. There are two playgrounds in the campus. And it also have many clubs and houses such as music club, dance club, drama club etc.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
