Remarks

I joined VIT in 2020 during the pandemic lockdown so the VITEEE exam which is the entrance exam was cancelled and was given the option to upload my 12th Physics, Chemistry, Maths marks and January JEE results too. Then there is the release of ranking and according to that, I got CSE in Chennai campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

All the faculty members are PHD holders and come from reputed Institution. Exams are held with a gap of 1 month and the final GPA depends upon the overall performance like submission of assignments and also the marks in the exams.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Well, there are no restrictions from VIT's side in your interest to do an internship. However, they suggest that you undergo an internship preferably after the 3rd Sem. VIT provides you with a letter signed by the Dean of your branch, that you can send to the company if required. For that you have to fill an IPT form and give it to your school office and the Letter will be in your hands in 2-3 working days. However, unlike the IITs, VIT does not have its own placement cell for providing you Internships. They do send Mails that they get from different companies to recruit interested students as Interns. But there is no specific Cell in the college that takes care of your Internship Training. One more thing to keep in mind is that VIT encourages you to undergo an "Industrial" Internship so that you get acquainted with the working and system of an industry, which would help you in future. Hence, joining an Internship in Colleges might not be that good an idea if you are only concerned about it.

Placement Experience

4.5

VIT has remarkable placement records so far. It has a placement centre that has vigorously trained the students and brought many MNCs for placement activities. Companies from various domains participate in the recruitment process at VIT. VIT has been in the good books of most of the companies that visit the campus in terms of the quality of the students and the skills they possess. The students are given an option to choose between various streams that include IT Services, product consulting, banking, Core Engineering companies with other options too. So this has allowed the students to select the jobs from their area of interest. There are more than 700 companies that visited VIT for placement activities and listing all of those companies here would be impossible. Many reputed companies such as Intel, eBay, Amazon, Dell, GE, Texas Instruments, Schneider Electric, DE Shaw & Co, Hitachi, HP, PayPal, Tata Motors, L&T, Dr Reddy's, Bosch, Deloitte, Microsoft, Morgan Stanley, Qualc.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is divided into 5 categories. 1) 2 lakhs 2) 3 lakhs 3) 4 lakhs 4) 4.5 lakhs 5) 4.9 lakhs per year. There are good scholarship opportunities if one is serious enough and passionate. So the VITEEE exam decides which category you will get admission in. The college also provides bank loan help for the students who don't have enough backing to study in a reputed private college. There is a regular seminar for the students and internship opportunities every now and then.

Campus Life

3.5

There is nothing like a good club or chapter unless you are actually interested in the field. Just joining for the certificate or the title will not fetch you anything. Because firstly that certificate is given much after your placements and secondly no one has the time to go through your file. So all in all it's best to find a club or chapter in a field you are actually interested in and work there. Your work is what will make that chapter good or bad. As for the funding aspect, VIT gives equal funding to all student clubs and chapters (which is pretty minuscule considering the no. of students there are). It's mostly the organizations and their members that end up spending on events.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Everyone would be given a rank based on their CGPA branch wise. Students will be called in descending order who have to bring their selected roommate’s IDs along with them. When a student gets his chance he’d select the available and desired type of bed from the list projected. This list is updated till time using which you can choose amongst. This all happens in one day. Prior to this everyone has to pay the advance amount for a hostel. If you couldn’t find any roommate then there’d be people like you around the Anna auditorium so you can decide based on your interest.

Other Applied Colleges

Students can join job drives from the 7th term. Many firms visit the campus for jobs and offer roles in tech and other fields. The pay varies by firm and role. EEC has a good job rate and gives help for job prep. After my degree, I plan to work in the tech field and grow my skills.

Students are open to campus placements from 2nd year onwards. There are many companies who visit such as Delloite, Accenture, Cognizant, TCS, Amazon, NatWest, Nokia, etc. Highest package offered is 42 lpa and lowest is maybe 2-4lpa. Around 90% of students get placed here. My plans is to get a job through campus recruitment. Currently I got an internship through campus recruitment in Cognizant so the recruitment is quite nice here.

Placement Experience:

One thing I really need to appreciate at CIT is its placement training program. The placement team conducts regular sessions on 1. aptitude 2. coding 3. communication skills 4. group discussions and 5. interview preparation which helped me feel more confident during placements. The trainers were friendly and always encouraged us to improve our skills step by step. They provide continuous guidance and feedback throughout the training process. Mock interviews and one to one assessments helped me to understand my strength and weak areas and I work on improvements . These sessions not only improved my technical and communication skills but also boosted my confidence . The placement training team played an important role in preparing me for career opportunities and industry expectation

Chennai Institute of Technology is an instituition that truly prioritizes student career growth . The placement cell is exceptionallu well-organized ,consistently connecting students with reputed companies across various industries. What makes CIT stood out is the quality of its training staff. They focus heavily on communication , technical knowledge and competitive preparation ,align students with what top companies expect ,and contiuosly push us to improve and meet industry standards. Their structured training helped me to clearly identify my strengths and work on my weak areas, which made a huge difference during interviews and boosted my overall confidence. The department faculty are equally commnedable ,knowledgable ,approachable and genuinely invested in student career. Overall CIT is an excellent choice for anyone focused on building a strong and sucessful career
