Remarks

I applied to Banaras Hindu University and DU but didn't attend those colleges because in BHU the courses were offered to me in RGSC campus which is not a well-built campus and lack a lot of facilities like a swimming pool, a good gym, moreover it is in a very village type area far away from any human trace and in DU I didn't get my preferred college and stream. After considering all my options I chose VIT Bhopal because it offered a lot of specializations and I had to make my career in Health Industry, also B. Tech is a degree of great value and it of course has a higher value than any simple graduation degree. I got into this college entirely on merit without any quota. The minimum marks required for this course under category 1 (Rs. 198000) is above 70% in PCM or PCB; they even take admission of a student having up to 60% marks in PCM or PCB but they have to pay double the fees of what a 70% scorer will pay. There was no counselling, but a telephonic conversation explaining everything.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

I chose Computer Science and Engineering (Specialization in Health Informatics) because I want to enhance the current scenario of the Health industry through upgrading the technology. The faculties here are expert in their domains and are very dedicated to their jobs. All faculty are PHD holders. This college provides a provision for the student to choose their own faculty and time slots through their VTOP facility. Because of Pandemic, we completed our 1st year entirely through online mode, and also the 2020 batch started a little late around October, but the teachers and this college completed the syllabus and took term exams timely. Within a period of 8 months, we completed our entire 1-year course with mid-term and term-end including a lot of assignments, tutorials, lab activity through various online sites and software. The exam papers are pretty good and one can easily pass if he/she pays attention in the class. The faculty: student ratio here is nearly 15:1 which is quite good.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Though I am just in the way of completing my first year, so I have not had any experience with internships, but yes I know the facts and figures of what seniors received. A huge number of companies like Shell Business Operations, Providence, Blackrock, JP Morgan, Honeywell, Intel etc have offered dream internship opportunities here. The highest paying internship was from Nutanix with 50,000 per month which was offered to one student of B.Tech. Nearly 15 students got an average of 35,000 per month and others 15,000 at least. Overall, the internship opportunities provided here are many, and it's increasing per year. Keeping in mind that the college is 3 years old, the opportunities provided in such a less amount of time are outstanding and worth appreciating.

Placement Experience

3.5

The college was established in 2017 so perhaps for many courses, 2021 will be the 1st year witnessing placements but yes the students did their internships in 3rd year. The students who opted for 3-year degree courses or 2-year degrees courses like BBA or MCA etc respectively got placed with an average salary of Rs 5 lakh per annum. The highest was 10 lakh per annum, which was offered to 3 to 4 students. Nearly 95% of the students got placed. A huge number of companies recruited the students of VIT Bhopal like Infosys, virtusa, Federal Bank, Cognizant, Byju's etc. VIT has a centralized placement cell so all four campus students give their placements together. My plan is also to get a high paying job via this college or through off-campus placements. I am trying to gain as many relevant skills as possible and trying to be excellent at them.

Fees and Financial Aid

For students who got 70% or more in PCM have to pay 198000 per year and they come under category 1. Category 2 students having fewer marks than 70% would pay nearly double the amount of what category 1 students pay. As this college is private, this has to be expensive. Hostel facilities and mess facilities have their own charges respectively and there are various options to avail in it like in hostel, there are provisions for single bedrooms, 2-bed rooms up to 6 bedrooms with options for AC or non AC available for each room. A 6 bedroom's cost is much lower than a 1-bedroom's cost. Similarly, Non-ac rooms will be much lower than ac rooms. Mess food cost differs based on non-veg and veg. This college runs a star scheme where all the district toppers of Madhya Pradesh can study here completely free of cost. Also, there are several scholarships for students getting a 9+ GPA in their 1st-semester exams. Overall, this college has a pretty good fee structure and scholarship opportunities.

Campus Life

4

I joined this college in 2020 and my complete 1st year was through online mode, so I am left with only pictures, videos and details of college activities that our seniors provide us. According to their details provided, there is a pretty wide number of sports played, from badminton, basketball to swimming. The campus is equipped with a well-established gym. There is a huge number of social groups and clubs going on, and the clubs and chapters in the college are ever-increasing. Also, the library is extensive and has nearly 15000 books. The classrooms are huge and equipped with digital blackboards. It also has various well-furnished labs, etc. Though I studied here through online mode till now, and sports, classroom, and library facilities are totally absent but never felt a lack of club activities, we have many discords and WhatsApp groups and daily some of the other activities take place. There are huge varieties of clubs like music club, dance club, pretty much something for everybody.

Other Applied Colleges

Banaras Hindu University | B.Voc. in Retail and Logistics Management

This course is taught in RGSC campus of BHU which is not well-built.

Delhi University | BMS (Bachelor of Management Studies)

I got KeshavMahavidyalaya where I didn't want to study due to some personal reasons.
