Remarks

I chose this university as it was a residential university with a very good campus. Apart from that it was situated in Greater Noida, which is not so far from my home (Delhi). This university was offering a dual degree (B.tech and M.tech) in a span of five years with an option to choose specializations from several fiels (eg. AI, VLSI etc).I had several friends already enrolled in this university who suggested me to apply for this university. I filled it's admission form in April of 2016 and gave an entrance exam for this university. My score and rank was quite decent and I was able to get Electronics and communications engineering as my subject. I used information available from several sources including internet (collegedunia.com, siksha.com etc.), the people who had passed out of this college etc.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum followed here is quite old and not in par with the recent advancements in the world. Although it is not the same for the entire course, later on the curriculum gets diversified as we choose out specializations. For example, in my case my specialization was Artificial Intelligence and Robotics; the curriculum there was very up to date.I was enrolled in the School of ICT (information and communication technology) and hence I can write only about the faculty of this particular school. The faculty available here is very good. They all have PHDs and are very learned and that too from prestigious institutions. Apart from the core subjects, some of the other subjects are taught by temporary faculties which keep on changing. Overall teaching is good here but it really depends on the teacher. Usually all the permanent faculties are excellent in teaching methodologies and sometimes the temporary faculties (the new ones) teach in a very basic manner. Regarding the examinations, we have two exams in a semester i.e. mid term exams and end term exams, each preceded by an internal exam for internal evaluation which includes class tests, oral tests, speech tests etc. Apart from that, the assignment and tasks also account towards the internal marking. All these are mandatory. Usually the teacher covers all the topics but the students need to practice and learn a lot individually though self reading and learning. The level of exams is moderate.

Internships Opportunities

4

Doing an internship is a necessary part of the curriculum. The college rarely provides any on campus internship opportunity. Things are changing slowly and in our batch (2016-2021) the university provided internship opportunity in Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) to all the students. Apart from that, the students are free to try on their own to grab any other internship on the basis of their own qualification and merit. After the internship is done one needs to present all the work and tasks he/she did during the internship for internship evaluation. I did an internship at an AI startup (Wobot Intelligence) where I did several tasks related to computer vision surveillance and deep learning.

Placement Experience

2

The placement cell of this college is in a budding stage. It does not provide very good opportunities to all the students. Getting placed through University Placement cell is quite a rare phenomenon. And getting placed in a good company is even rarer. It all depends on your skills. Although it is getting better as now companies like Nagarro and tech mahindra came to hire in out batch (2016-2021) but still not enough for all the students. I got placed in Nagarro with a play scale of 3.5 LPA though the placement cell itself. SO, I'd say the pay scale offered is really low. Other companies which come to this campus are Asteria IT, NTT DATA, TrueChip etc.Other off campus opportunities are provided as well.

College Events

The annual cultural festival of Gautam Buddha University is named Abhivyanjana. It happens every year (https://abhivyanjana.in/). It includes several shows, games, contests, fashion shows, concerts etc.Apart from that there is a sports event named "Shauryautsav" which happens every year. It consists of several games (both outdoor and indoor games) in which students from the university participate actively. There are sports events held between all the hostels of GBU as well. The gaming infrastructure of this university is very good. It has international level stadiums for cricket, basketball, tennis, wrestling, badminton etc. The classrooms have a very nice infrastructure as well. All classrooms and school buildings are completely air conditioned. There are several clubs availaible here (for example music club, dramatics club, arts club, yoga club etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

There is no fee hike involved here once you're enrolled. You need to pay the exact amount you paid in your first year. The hike in fees is applicable to the newly admitted students. The living costs here is low, but again it depends on a student's lifestyle and the hostel and mess charges are Rs. 60000 for a year. (This fees is for 2016, please check for any hike in the fees). Apart from that students who are residents of Uttar Pradesh and their family income is less than Rs 2 Lakh are eligible for a scholarship which provides amounts ranging from 60000 to 80000 to students of all categories. Also, there is a "Merit-Cum-Means" scholarship program for the top performers in any class. There are no campus jobs available here.

Hostel Facilities

4

You need to first pay all your fees and then submit a copy of the Fee slip in your designated hostel to get access to your room. It is a simple and smooth process. All the students get to have a single room and no one shares any room. A bed, cupboard, desk and shelf comes with each room. The rooms are very good. There is no seperate bathroom for anyone. There are 5-10 common washrooms on each floor depending upon the size of the hostel.

Admission

I faced a written test for admission in Gautam Buddha University. The test consisted of aptitude questions, general intelligence, english and topics from Class 10th, 11th and 12th.I was preparing for the JEE mains exam and hence my study was majorly focused on 10+2 curriculum.

would rate the curriculum 7/10. It covers basics like management, finance and marketing, which helps in real-world understanding. However, it needs more practical exposure and industry projects. Exams are semester-wise and moderate in difficulty.

Since curriculum was given by AKTU itself, colleges only has the power to choose elective subjects- Few subjects were my fav and helped me alot in lot's of different scenerios - like EDC,Network Theory and ofc VLSI Design was my fav. For ECE students - university shd mandate Satellite communication and VLSI Technology a compulsory as it's a kind of core subjects and in every PSU as well as govt exams , questions from this subject always been asked by authorities. More faculties staff's are required.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As the faculty teachers and all the staff was very good and the faculty teachers of the science were very fabulous in education causes me to choose this course... The curriculum here was in terms of social interaction was ok but it was not that good for the future real world academic pursuits as their were not that much activities for the social appearance... In terms of course curriculum and teaching method this college doesn't need much improvements because it is much better according to teaching method , as the teachers were good in terms of teaching... The timing and frequency was having much gap between one semester exam and the other semester exam , so there were not much difficulty in giving exams according to my perspective...
