Remarks

With my college life experience it was good one to peruse my bachelors degree from AMCEC bangalore. The faculty was very friendly and supportive. diversity in the college campus was very good. There are few areas which college had to concentrate on like, developing soft skills for students much before placements. Cultural fest was good, college management can stress on technical side in the fest which was too good during our times.

Entrance Preview

I took CET exam from karnataka board and scored 10309 rank in the year 2009. I wanted to peruse my bachelors degree in Telecommunication.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

Telecommunication course was very similar to electronics and communication. Syllabus would differ only in the last year and we would study about GSM and CDMA only a bit, definitely not up to industry standards but basic knowledge was very good. I am not very sure about current syllabus structure. If they have included new technologies such WCDMA and LTE, it will be more helpful.

Internships Opportunities

I am not sure about the internship. None of my class mates had got internship rather not applied for it.

Placement Experience

3

Since 2008/2009 was not a good year for placement only 5 to 6 companies came in, only hand full of them were selected. I don’t think anybody who were selected got the offer letter from the companies. Other than companies coming to our campus we were also guided for pool campus which used to happen in other colleges too.

College Events

3.5

Like all other colleges AMCEC was also having college fest in addition to it we had fest conducted by individual departments once in a year. We also used to take part in other college technical and cultural fests. Attendance was not an issue for the fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

College fees was feasible during our times, I don’t have much idea about current fees structure. Annually we used to pay 35K (25k decided by CET committee and 10k was college fee). Hostel fees used to extra. I never opted for hostel so I don’t have much idea about its fees structures.

Fees and Financial Aid

I had not opted for scholarship nor loan. But I know some people who had taken educational loan from nationalised banks and that was being initiated during CET counselling itself.

Campus Life

3.5

Overall, the campus was good. Gender ratios was well balanced (as usual mechanical department was an exception for this). We had very good diversity with respect to language, ethnicity. We had few workshops but they were not great. We had a cultural committees for each departments.

Hostel Facilities

3

College was 20kms from my home place even though it was hectic some times to travel I used to manage it. I never stayed in hostel. I have seen hostel it was on twin sharing basis, don’t know exactly about the fees structure. Food from the mess was not good in the campus, lot of mess have come up around the college vicinity now.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes alumni network is very helpful, alumni network helps students for reference for jobs and also for guidance regarding further studies.

Exam Structure

It was not very hectic for us, usually we had labs twice in a week for each student. The duration of lab classes were 3 hrs. Regrading the exams, we used to have 3 internals in which 2 was mandatory 3rd one was optional in order maintain the average, we used to have 1 internal exam for lab.

Faculty

3.5

Faculty was not that great but they were descent in teaching, only a few of them had industrial experience. Only a few of them were doing PHD in a particular stream, they were good in teaching. Very of them were still doing M.tech and were also helping the teaching staff in offloading their work.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell is very active in our college. Every year more than 30+ companies come to our college for recruitment . Our seniors from 7th semester get placed in many companies and before getting placed in the company our college offers internships to every student. Around 80 % of the students get placed in companies and work efficiently. The average package for civil engineering is 2.5 lakh per annum.

Placement Experience:

Students in my college have a very good amount of campus placements where students become eligible from the final year 7th semester however the placement cell starts training from the 1st year means 1st semester itself like training for aptitude test, coding and mock interviews. Top it companies like TCS infosys, wipro, Accenture, capgemini, cognizant, IBM, tech mahindra mind tree. The campus receives 300+ offers. The average package 8 - 10 LPA and highest package 54 LPA. Every year 90% students are placed. After my degree i am planning to higher studies in abroad.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is generally detailed and aligned with industry Expectations but there is still scope for modernisation in certain areas.Overall i would like to rate 8/10. The syllabus include both theoretical and multiple lab components which ensures hands on learning. The practical labs like programming work and project with learning help students understand how concepts are applied in real work places. A few theory heavy subjects feel outdated and no longer match the current industry demand this could be revised or replaced.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements from the 6th semester, but the overall placement scenario in DSCE for CSE is below average. Not even 50% of students get placed in good companies. Most students end up getting offers from mass recruiters or in sales and non-tech roles. Only a small percentage of top performers get decent technical packages. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Accenture, Cognizant, and a few mid-tier companies visit the campus, but the number of high-package, core-tech roles is very limited. The average package is on the lower side compared to other top COMEDK colleges. Because of this, many students plan for higher studies, certification courses, or off-campus drives after completing the degree. The on-campus placement support definitely needs improvement, especially for technical roles.”

The students who are studying in 7th semester ( final year) are eligible for campus placements but before that in 5th semester there is pre placement training like aptitude everything. Top companies visit for placement like TCS , infosys, wipro, accenture, capegemini, IBM, techmahindra, Mindtree. Average there are 150-250 offers. Average package is 7-8 lpa. The highest package is 54 lpa at botify company. 85 % of students get placed at cse branch and ai amd ml and civil 30 - 50% . Overall 80% students gets placed. My plan is join a top product based company liek google with a good life.
