Remarks

Good Aspects:A nice place to socialize and learn has a fantastic infrastructure with upgrades being made for the coming years. A well-maintained campus when it comes to cleanliness, sanitization, and gardening. Few faculties are really helpful when it comes to studies and including the management of student issues. The management gives preference for students and their convenience regarding fee payments online, cashless transactions, healthy food in the canteen.Admissions for B.Com doesn't require any special entrance exam (if Bangalore University). A minimum of 60% is required to get admitted for pursuing B.Com Degree. Dates are from May-June, If any of you want to get yourself admitted to Deemed University, they have to attempt the DSAT test which usually occurs during March-April. and it organizes cultural festivals and activities every year which makes it fun and builds communication skills for a student.Bad Aspects:1)Parking is a big issue here, as a lot of the students prefer to travel by two-wheeler, and space gets filled up pretty quickly. Making it a morning workout parking one's own vehicle.2)When it comes to studies, there are few teachers who don't care what is being taught, and they just run slides of presentation to complete portions.3)Computer labs are one outdated junk, they run on 1gb ram and 40gb storage4)There is no Student Wifi Facility, if one is privileged enough they can use the staff room wifi, by getting the password from the teacher.5)Drinking water facility is a big issue in summer, as there will be water cans and no dispensers. where the cans tend to deplete by hours on arrival6)Placements are complete bullshit, but they market themselves as 100% Guaranteed. I myself did have a bad experience and most of the companies are for Voice Role and Sales Role with low pay scales (and they never mass hire, it's always 2-4 max)7)There is a lot of partiality and discrimination when it comes to special facilities like the auditorium, large seminar halls. as this is not considered as a basic need.management tends to reject any of these permissions. (but good on other aspects)Reason: nearby to my place and actually thought I would get placed in a nice company, but turns out the placements were not that great. but built my soft skills and leadership skills by being a part of the cultural club, which helped me get a job and made good memories.Didn't have any blog/website references.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

Chose B.Com in finance as to explore more into financing and land a job in this sector, all faculties are well educated and have a lot of degree's but some aren't just that good when it comes to teaching. There are about 60 Teaching Faculty: 700 Students irrespective of what year they are (both BBA and b.com).All the faculties are holding a master's degree and they teach in both traditional methods and digital form.3 Internals distributed timely every Sem (best of 2 for marks)1 Final Exam every semAs it's Bangalore university, it is very easy to pass with minimal effort.

Internships Opportunities

0.5

There is no official internship oppurtunities from the college, but if one has any connections with seniors, can secure it and do it in summer breaks. attendance will not be provided if in case one wants to do internship when there is college for students, so one can only get a work from home intern or summer intern from outside.

Placement Experience

0.5

From 5th semester, placements will begin and eligible criteria for some students is to not have any backlogs. there are few companies visiting our campus like dell, amazon, tcs etc. but hire in minimum and most of them dont get placed. the profiles for management students are primarily Business Development Roles (Sales) and Voice Related Job and very few accounting related jobs.

College Events

Commerce and Management intercollegiate fest - Apogee happens once every year and it is conducted on Feb end or March first weekThis is one of the most active and big events happening in the college where a lot of people from different colleges take part. and I was privileged to lead the cultural team for the year 2020.There is almost every book related to academics and choices of other authors tooBooks can be borrowed easily even when a student doesn't make a library card(by paying a security deposit to the books)Amenities in the classrooms are pretty basic with proper ventilation and lighting. Seminar Halls have air conditioning. not the classesThere are not many sports activities, there is only one sport meet in a year, and they kind of play with inter departments. nothing like a special sports club to practice few sports every week.BBA/B.Com cultural club is handled and run by students with the supervision of a faculty coordinatorInstagram: dsjbs_culfoThere are a lot of teams and clubs to work and learn with, I myself was in a technical club for 2 years and took the whole cultural club's responsibility in my final year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is 75,000 for B.Comand 1,50,000 for BBA Scholarships are availed to merits and reservation categoryThere is no financial assistance when it comes to student troubles, one has to pay the whole course fee irrespective of personal issues. (some struggled in this pandemic, where college didn't assist them)Campus jobs are basically capped at 3-3.5 lakhs per annum

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel facility is decent and the food is high quality and hygenic, food is same for both hostel and canteen, where the entire college comes down for lunch, and yeah we have 3 canteen's in total.

Admission

There was nothing such as GD/PI for the admission. The process is very simple, one has to score above 60% in their 12th and get an application form from the admission desk and they will get their seat. There is a criterion of DSAT (Dayananda Sagar admission test) if one opts for deemed university.I didn't take part in any rounds for my admission

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum here feels more practical and idea driven rather than just theory based which was one of the main reasons I chose this course it focuses on design thinking creativity and real execution instead of only textbook learning One of the strongest parts is how it slowly builds your understanding from basics to advanced concepts through projects assignments and presentations this helps in preparing for real world work because you are constantly creating and improving your portfolio rather than just studying for exams The curriculum does prepare you for industry to a good extent especially in terms of creative thinking software usage and project handling but it can improve by including more updated trends real time industry briefs and collaboration with professionals which will make it even more relevant Teaching methods are mostly interactive and practical but sometimes they can include more workshops guest sessions and exposure to current market tools to enhance learning experience Exams are conducted with two internal assessments of around 40 marks each followed by a final semester exam of 70 marks theory and 30 marks practical the difficulty level is moderate if you attend classes and complete your work regularly it is manageable Overall the curriculum is strong in building creative foundation and practical skills but with a few updates and more industry exposure it can become even more effective for future careers
