Entrance Preview

By clearing JEE Mains exam,conducted by CBSE,with AIOR 12k and opted for Electronics as it was my second preference after Computer Science .

Course Curriculum Overview

NIT Rourkela can be said as a "Research Hub" as it provides a far better scope in research area. In your 1st year you learn subjects related to your high school subjects like Maths,Chemistry,Physics,Basic Electrical and Electronics engg etc. 2nd year on wards you get to learn subjects related to your branch.

Internships Opportunities

I think it provides research internships because the scope of research in this college is good. I don't have the idea about the stipend thing.

Placement Experience

Placement and Job Opportunities provided are not so up to the mark,However its been increasing since a few years. Computer Science and Electronics Students bag the companies paying larger salaries which include companies like Microsoft,Amazon,Goldman Sachs ,C Dot etc.

College Events

Events include the multi-ethnic fest,related to cultural events of various states and countries,then the tech-fest ,which includes workshops, competitions, events related to technology, then the International Students Meet.

Fee Structure And Facilities

As its a govt. college,the fee structure is decided by government itself and I think the fee structure is a bit expensive and recently the fee structure has experienced a massive hike by a whooping amount of 1.2 lac as decided by previous Education minister Mrs. Smriti Irani.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes college provides good loan facility from all the banks and it also provides scholarships which include international scholarships also.I have not availed any loan.

Campus Life

In this college you can find the club culture i.e clubs related to all fields like robotics,debating,aerospace,quizzing etc.Gender ratio is quite good.

Hostel Facilities

This college provides the best hostel facilities with double seater and single seater rooms.And the mess facility is also too good and food provide here is not like other mess food of which you may have heard of.Hostel rent is also moderate.You get 24 hrs electricity,water and 4 times food in a day,What else do you want!!!

External Expense: Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network here is too strong and they are very helpful in providing sponsorship for various fests,events and start-ups also. Seniors are very much helpful as they help you in your academics and they give a insight of the placement scenario .

Exam Structure

In a semester you have to appear for two major exams-the mid semester exam and the end semester exam which has weightage of 30% and 50% respectively and rest 20% is given by the teacher according to the class tests,attendance,discipline,etc. And evaluation at the labs are done at regular basis including your performance and viva.

Faculty

Faculty members are highly qualified with some of them having PHDs and PGs at foreign universities. Here student-faculty interaction is given more priority as it helps students to clarify their doubts and to extract extra knowledge from the professors.

Placements are quite good. Thats precisely why i chose this college . The highest offer last year was 52 lpa . Other than that average package is 6 to 8 lpa for cse students . Mostly all students get placed . A few companies that come for placements are Infosys, TCS , JP Morgan , Deloitte , Bookings holidays , Cognizant, Accenture .

Placement Experience:

After 3rd semester the students are eligible for internship but after 4th sem the students are eligible for Plecement. More the 95% students get the placements. Highest package is aprox Rs.4300000 and lowest is 300000. My plan is for higher studies after getting degree.

ITER SOA is quite intimidating!!

Placement Experience:

IBM, Siemens, Philips and many other companies and even the chio makers and computer makers are also one of the main share holders in placements. For CSE department the average placements are of 15-20 lakhs but for our department the average drops down to 6 lakhs per annum.

I had a choice for chemical engineering in NIT Calicut,kerala my home state but i was not interested in chemistry so I dropped that choice and preferred electrical engineering in NIT Rourkela because choosing this would be more related to core and computer field which also was the one I was interested in. Honest and Genuine review of NIT Rourkela

So I choose these college over the others because of its relevant name and the hype of this college In India as It is Institute of national importance And also a government backed college and it is one of the most demanded college. So the colleges which I have applied to are DTU, NSUT, Nit Trichy, Nit Warangal, Nit Surat Kal And top 7 iits. No I was not rejected from the other college which I have applied to but the combination of branching and the college value Doesn't satisfied me for taking admission in that colleges. So the admission process for the Nit Rourkela Is that the eligibility criteria is 75% in 12th class And second criteria is to clear the entrance exam which is the JEE mains and also scoring a very good marks in it. Then by the centralised Josaa Counselling student will fill their choices ,lock and get allotments in the upcoming rounds of the josaa counselling. The ending rank to take admission in this college in the EC branch is about a 6000-7000 rank in the jee mains exam for the other state people.
